Can’t the vaccinated still spread the virus?
Yes...but dramatically less so according to multiple studies, now. Just last week, a study from the Netherlands came out indicating that there was less live virus* in the nasal passages of vaccinated Delta breakthrough cases than there was in the nasal passages of unvaccinated people who became infected with what we call "wild-type" SARS-CoV2 - the version of the virus that was dominant before Alpha (the "UK variant") and Delta emerged. Another study out of Singapore indicated that vaccinated breakthrough cases cleared the virus significantly faster than unvaccinated infectees.
Couple this with the fact that you are *at least* 50% less likely to become infected at all if you are fully vaccinated, and the upshot is very clearly that, while a vaccinated individual is, indeed, capable of catching and spreading the virus, they are definitively less likely to spread than an unvaccinated individual - less likely to catch it, less likely to be carrying as much live virus in their respiratory system, and more likely to clear it (and thus become less infectious) faster.
* A footnote - what made this Netherlands study important was that they looked at how much/whether viral RNA collected with a swab could be cultured into live virus. PCR tests are great because they're very sensitive, but what they pick up is viral RNA, not whole viral particles. I was pulling positive PCR tests for literally two months when I got sick in March of 2020, and the last few of them, the doctors were 100% positive that what was being picked up was remnants of the virus my immune system was spitting out as it beat back the infection. That's why it's so important to look at whether what's collected can be cultured into live virus rather than simply the RNA, because if all you're spewing out is remnants, you're not infecting anybody.

It's crazy how frustrating willful ignorance is. "hurp durp, people are telling me to do something for my own safety, hurp durp. Well I ain't gonna do it cause they told me to!" Stunning. Time to ditch this thread for a while.
thing about mandates is it doesn’t matter if you want to or not
I mean unless there’s door-to-door forced injection, there’s no true way to get 100% of the population vaccinated
100% of the population doesn't need to be vaccinated? states with high vaccination rates are going about life as pretty much normal and our hospitals aren't triaging. you antivaxxers are overwhelming your healthcare systems causing this pandemic to last forever so thank you so much.
I read a Reddit thread of COVID ICU nurses earlier today (I can’t find it now) commiserating with their stories of unvaccinated 20-30 year olds dying horrible deaths. I saw it last year myself. You’ve got an opportunity to do so much for yourself and others - don’t let it go waste.

I appreciate you caring about my well-being but I feel good about my natural immunity after recovering from the virus.
And I’ve been very cautious with masking, quarantining, and social distancing. Stopped taking dj gigs for over a year. Been eating healthy and getting sun and exercise.

I also feel good about having natural immunity as well, but having the extra level of protection was an incredible relief after months of worrying about catching it again. I mentioned my experience being in nursing homes. I haven’t seen a single COVID death in a long time at any I’ve been to; some people certainly have natural immunity but a lot didn’t catch COVID. Almost all of them are now vaccinated. I believe it would be worse if it wasn’t. We all might have gotten it again by now, we might not have, but getting vaccinated was a daylong inconvenience that will almost certainly be beneficial for a lot of people, myself included.

That's cool, but completely irrelevant unless you can point me to peer-reviewed papers on RCTs that prove that either of those things makes a lick of difference when it comes to avoiding infection by the Delta variant of this particular virus.
Also, while you're right that natural immunity is good, what you're ignoring from the above is that natural immunity + vaccine confers the greatest protection.
EDITED TO ADD: Also (taking a deep breath before I say this for the 1,500th time to an anti-vaxxer), this isn't just about you. See what I said up-thread about vaccinated people being less likely to spread Delta if they catch it. You not wanting to protect yourself the best you can is one thing. You choosing not to protect others the best you can is a bigger issue.

Hate to break it to you, but it's not only about protecting yourself, it's about protecting others in the meantime. That is, if you really care about the society.

Hence masking, quarantining, and social distancing. Forgot to mention I was also getting weekly rapid tests before I caught it.

Those are all good, but unfortunately, not enough.
You can always provide more protection by getting the vaccine. Not that difficult.
My anti vax roommate said he’d get vaccinated once it got FDA approved and in a complete shock to nobody, he’s still not getting it because his definining feature is being as obnoxious and inflammatory as possible because he’s allowed to be

emoney is Jughead really just truevine in disguise... I don't know it feels like I've heard all of these same CONTRATRION arguments and the horseshit detector in me, is saying these are the folks that will never be convinced.

won't find me in a confined space with either of them any time soon
Here's a single hospital system in Louisville KY, vaccinated vs unvaccinated numbers
Yeah that’s obvious. Nobody is arguing that the vaccine reduces possibility of severe disease or hospitalization. I’m not anti-vax or anti-science. I’m against the mandates.
But you personally don't trust the vaccines right?

Is there malevolent intent beyond corporate profits? Idk. I know there’s risk of side effects but the risk of severe symptoms from the virus is higher.
