Just catching up on this ... I haven't caught it either, so I must be very hot too! That and I always wear a KF94 ... for any public indoor activity, including shows.
You must've hyperventilated at the Arcade Fire show!

If I was doing KN95 or just surgical style, then yeah, but KF94s are great for shows, there's a lot of space around the mouth to scream and shout, I've worked it out!

My highschool boyfriend’s mother got covid at the beginning of the month and had to be put on a ventilator. She’s doing a bit better and breathing on her own, but still in the hospital. It’s so scary bc her and my mom are friends and the same age. She is boosted and everything. She did have some health problems, a hysterectomy when we were teenagers (which would’ve made her about my age, 35-40, very young to have that happen) and IBS stuff. Neither are HUGE HUGE issues but I guess that combined with the over 65 is what did it. I just really don’t want my mom to ever die and that’s the point of this sad story!!!!!

All the more reason to give her so much love now. You don’t know what is in the future.
Holy shit I’m glad I retired. Tennessee lawmakers are trying to pass a law that would require pharmacists to sell Ivermectin over the counter to idiots.

A member of Arcade Fire tested positive for Covid yesterday. I went on Sunday and didn’t wear a mask, but tested negative this morning. I wear a mask at work still most times (sometimes not when it’s slow with regulars and I know they’re all vax’d). No symptoms so far. When do you think the potential “I got it from that concert” window is closed? I don’t even take exposure seriously anymore because of what I do for a living (I assume every time I work I’m getting exposed) but I try to be mindful before doing another big unmasked thing.

My friend who had cancer pre-pandemic already got her 2nd shot. Her first booster was in August and she basically was like "Better safe than sorry". But has there been any efficacy with the 2nd booster? I heard with Israel it didn't do much?

Are we going to have a vaccine any time soon that is more up-to-date with later variants? I have my booster, but I don't want to keep getting boosters of that same initial vaccine if it's increasingly behind the times of this virus's form. Hell, I feel like my own omicron infection gives me more protection than any of my shots at this point.

Don't be too sure about previous infection, I know of two people who got it in late December who got it again last week.
Anyway, I'm glad I don't need to drink during shows or cave into peer pressure, and keep my mask firmly on during shows, I don't care if I'm the only one doing it. Unsure about if I should get a booster right away once that recommendation becomes official or if I should wait for the reformulations, it's been almost six months since I got my booster.

Just got it 🙃🙃
But today is much better than Friday and Thursday. Just fever and cough along with a runny/stuffed nose.
Very surprised I (triple vaxxed) got it and my gf (double vaxxed/ no booster) didn’t get it and we just spent last Friday to this Thursday all up under each other (vacation in Seattle for 4 days + 2 days together and a Laker game).
Gonna see if I can still activate my PTO with my job. If not I work from home and can push through it. Hoping I’ve seen the worst of it.

Yah, it's still fascinating to me how some people can have the same level of protection and exposure, and one may get it while the other doesn't. Feel better!

Agreed. So weird and fascinating. Kyle didn't get it while thejeremy and I had it. He got it in May 2020 and only has the J&J, no booster.
Miss Rona finally got me. My partner started feeling symptoms on Monday, and it started hitting me yesterday.
Oddly enough, I took a pcr Tuesday night that can back negative, but the at-home I took 12 hours later came back positive. Feel like it should’ve been the opposite.

Two of my coworkers tested positive this weekend. Went to a pop up tent today & they don’t do free testing anymore. A serious joke considering shit’s rising again. Coworkers wear masks at work but of course all of our social lives have gotten busier & less “safe” in the last couple months.
Anyway, heads up for New Yorkers that ya gotta bring insurance to get tested now!
getting rid of the vax mandate was an absolute mistake. now you have these mouthbreathers going around spreading covid everywhere. Mask mandate also should have stayed, even though it tends to have lower compliance

I agree 100% and bitched about the same thing when they dropped them both here.
Still obviously too early to celebrate but one reason to be optimistic is that ba.2 is already the dominant strain in the US and we haven’t experienced any sort of surge yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way though our current state of not giving a fuck at all probably won’t help.
