What if we did like a google doc masterlist for next time so everyone can edit when we make a pick?
Bing and I have some kind of google doc for this draft so we can cross check and update when picks are made.
We can definitely do what you suggest, but we still gotta make a list in advance to count how many acts have played this before so that people can know how many Hot Chips are left to pick.
Makes sense, I can definitely help in that regard because I can just make a bot to take every artist from the list wikipedia has.
Y'all want to make it easy peasy lemon squeezy with as many Radiohead sets as you want. For having participated in so many drafts, y'all become weak. Get creative.

That would add in an additional layer of strategy. Radiohead becomes less valuable.
I think having to pick the best of the bad to fill out the second lines is kind of a fun part of this.
Then others won't pick any second line acts and people will ignore it in voting. Alas.
It'd be very interesting if Fred / Bing (next time) said...
1. This is the pool of headliners. You need two have at least two Coachella headliners. You can have one headliner that you are choosing to promote from outside of this group.
2. This is the pool of second line acts. You must have at least 12 of these acts. You can promote 6 acts to the second line from outside of this group.
Then third line down is fair game any way you slice it. I know this would make everyone kick and scream, but I think it would help move us closer to "hey you are in charge of trying to book the actual Coachella 2021 lineup without sinking the festival due to low ticket sales."
Not saying this is the "right" way to do it, but I think it'd be fun to try to get closer to reality in at least one draft in the future.
I think the issue is people view stuff they don't like as a negative rather than just ignoring it. If you love 9/10 acts but the last one is complete dogshit, that's still a really good lineup.

Yeah, are you going to schedule only one act at a time?

This is definitely true for looking at real-life lineups, but a fantasy lineup shouldn't have any dogshit on it if at all avoidable. Even one bad name near the top can be a real eyesore
i guess only having 16 people would of helped w that also but yeah, still really want us to do that at some point
we can try that next time... I'll need your help to update the master list though. You up for that?
Seriously, just list everything. If they played twice, list them twice. Then cross them off or delete them as selected. (Delete would be way easier but wouldn't leave a 'paper trail.')

I would, and like I said last before we started,I think another good system would of been to establish how many more times the act your picking is available in the same post you pick them.
Ex.
“Daft Punk, no longer available.”
“Prince, no longer available.”
“Radiohead, available x 3. “
and so on. would still be good to have a master list, I just think this is the best way to keep everyone updated and aware of what’s available, while being able to resolve disputes right away if someone says the wrong number.

But this is a fantasy draft with limited acts. If you want to put together something that would be to the scale of a normal Coachella lineup, I think we'll have to compromise in the second and third lines. It doesn't have to be dogshit, but inforoo is a little picky. There are some mainstream acts that aren't necessarily bad but inforoo just does not care for them at all. I wouldn't mind picking those acts in the last few rounds or as free agents. Imagine if r/bonnaroo did these drafts some of the names that would go in the third round lol
