Raise your hand if you didn't read the rules before the draft started
Yeah I traded my pick last night because I really only wanted the white stripes but felt like I could just get Jack White later if I really wanted. Then I was joking around and told Todd to take the throne and Jortles mentioned the rule and I was like SHIT
I had no clue until you pointed it out. Mad you took the Stripes but it was probably a good move for you.
Reread the rules and realized White Stripes are way more valuable since Jack White isn't eligible solo anymore. I'm trading for Cookin' Mama pick right here
I'm giving him Todd's 2nd,5th, and 10th picks he gave me for Jtr's pick right here
Along with this I think that rule one is bs. Why was it changed for this draft?
Because I kind of got sick of someone drafting an artist and then getting sniped by someone from that act or a cover act getting picked later in the draft. I know that the argument is that you just need to take that into consideration when drafting an act but we have also had that level of exclusivity in previous drafts with a max number of songs from a drafted artist so I feel like in a draft where there as an almost infinite number of acts to choose from we should be able to retain that level of uniqueness. So we're giving this a try for a change.
Hypothetical: If someone owns both Kanye and Jay Z, could they also draft The Throne
They could make a Superjam set. I had Kanye and Kid Cudi once and did a Kids See Ghosts Party. It wouldn't be a pick but just a created time slot for it
Why is one lineup having the beatles and the other having macca a big deal? From what I can gather the argument is it devalues the original pick, but I've never looked at a lineup and said "Oh wow this one has macca, guess I won't vote for the one with the beatles"
This being said rules are rules, just wanted to put my opinion out there.

Does this impact sets from cover bands or album tribute sets from artists unrelated to the original act? (thinking about stuff like Princess or Angelique Kidjo's Remain in Light here)
And The Throne, Jay Z & Beyonce, Robert Plant, etc as the rule stands right now
It depends on what their typical setlists are. At least one of those mentioned is probably still on the table.
The only version of Plant’s 20 years of solo shows that play less than 6 Zepp songs are in the last 4 years so I guess it would be 70 year old Plant you’d get.

Yes. Dead & Co are off the table. (One of the biggest motivators for this move.)

Dead and co aren’t a cover band and he means acts unrelated to the original act not like dead and co. So an act like jrad
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

kidjo for sure still on the table imo. Also JRAD. But turkuaz/Harrison/belew, probably not.
