Appreciate the prickle-rule but I don't think those acts should just be a give away at the end of the draft btw. I think those acts just just be freezed then and just have the person in question have been eliminated from the game when voted as stated in the rules.
Also, since a lot of people seemed to love the brackets.. Maybe we should do that here aswell? Thoughts?

I don’t like the bracket idea here since we are all creating different lineups. It makes sense w Coachella bc we are trying to create a lineup for the same fest so it’s easy to go head to head but not sure if that would work here.

I wish we could incorporate public voting again but without doing a bracket it seems harder/more pointless since you have to choose from so many names. Maybe we could do it for later rounds when there's less choices?

why wouldn’t it? Seems easy enough to look at two lineups and choose which one you like more.

it’s kinda tricky for me bc a lot of these fests end up being very different. I’m not gonna die on this hill tho, but if we do go the bracket route we need to figure out better tiebreakers.

But.. That happens with a poll aswell, no? By the end of the draft you have a clear idea of your favorite 4 or 5 line ups no?
Yeah.. I know. Randomisation is probably the most fair but also the shittiest way to have to leave the draft.

I can vote for most lineups every round with a poll or choose to only vote for a few if there’s a clear tier cut off. I kinda prefer that freedom instead of having to vote off what I think are really good lineups early on. With the polls I’m sometimes forced to choose between two fests I really like before I think either should leave.

I can't imagine randomization feels very fair if you're the one who gets booted after tying.
I also don't necessarily know what a better solution would look like though... maybe some sort of 24-hour runoff where the lineups that tied can present their case in more detail and those on the fence can think about switching their votes? Either that or stick with the polling like was done for the Bonnaroo draft which I thought was pretty fine
I'm in favor of a short poll to break ties. Losing by chance sucked, especially when the three people who lost the coin flip are the three people who were most against randomization IIRC.

I think the original rules had an additional 12-hour poll to determine the winner of any ties. If the result of the poll is still a tie, then we can randomize, I think. We should implement that next time, it seems more fair.

I'd imagine there being some people who'd vote strategically if that were the case, idk.

I was gonna pass this dry stab again but you know what, fuggit. I'm tired of these meaningless stabs. What in the goddamn hell are you even insinuating? We were open for criticism throughout the whole draft and took every sort of feedback that every participant had. Both at the beginning when rules were set and even at the very end when some of you wanted to do the voting differently. We tried to compensate and change it... and y'all agreed upon.
I don't need a "thank you note" or whatever to have held it with Fred but I'd appreciate not always being so goddamn toxic towards me and Fred. I've pointed out several times that it's hard hosting these things and that I've gained a lot of respect for cdev along the road. I don't even see why you're being so mean anyways. What did we even do to you? I always try to be open and bright about everbody's opinion and apparently even that is not enough.

So if someone drafts The Beatles, are we allowed to say that they're performing songs they've actually toured with? This would apply to every act of course, but it mostly affects how valuable The Beatles are which is why I use them as an example. Nobody seemed to care in previous drafts but I'd like to know before we get started. Because if we're going off actual live performances I think you could make the argument that Paul McCartney solo would be a much better show.

nah, we can define the setlists any way we want, but i think its all ultimately about what the voters will view it in their head when they see the name on the poster.

What you quoted was more about the irony of the people who lost than insinuating anything; when I lost to a coin flip I was like "and this is why I don't like randomization". I can certainly see how it seemed as if I was insinuating something, but that wasn't my intent and if I had thought someone would have received it that way, I'd have reworded it. Because I will admit that I'm a little bitter about some things in this draft and have made a petty dig here and there, though I don't intend to be mean or toxic. Running these drafts isn't easy and although I've disagreed with some of your guys' decisions, I've also lauded you when you've made changes because of feedback you've gotten and I think overall this thing has gone smoothly, especially since this is your first time running it. Either way, I'm sorry. I was not trying to nor expecting to get a response from you. My PMs are open if you want to talk.
