So if someone drafts The Beatles, are we allowed to say that they're performing songs they've actually toured with? This would apply to every act of course, but it mostly affects how valuable The Beatles are which is why I use them as an example. Nobody seemed to care in previous drafts but I'd like to know before we get started. Because if we're going off actual live performances I think you could make the argument that Paul McCartney solo would be a much better show.
nah, we can define the setlists any way we want, but i think its all ultimately about what the voters will view it in their head when they see the name on the poster.
I'd like there to be a consensus on this sort of thing so I'm not guessing how people are interpreting them. We all assume these artists are playing at their peak and each voter has in their head what that might be. But The Beatles never toured on their best material. If just for example I say "The Beatles: performing Magical Mystery Tour" are people going to throw a fit?

I know during the last Bonnaroo draft many of us designated album anniversary sets even if the artist never did so. I don't think it's all that different from that, so I say go for it

nah. i dont think any one would try and challenge it, but you just have to be aware that some people might raise an eyebrow and resent it during voting. i dont think theres anyway to get an actual consensus agreement on something like this, its really a case by case basis.

i actually have a somewhat similar plan for an artist performing an album that no one has ever tried that i think would do really well in voting if i get them.

Yeah. This is right. I mean we're drafting dead people so there's an inherent suspension of disbelief here. If you're unsure of how stuff will be interpreted, specify what they'll be doing?

I wouldn't tbh. I know what I've said on this in the past, BUT:
The Beatles were severely limited by sound tech in a way that they wouldn't be today. If we're assuming that artists are just getting plopped into today with modern tech, then go ham.
That said I'm still going to assume they'd lean more heavily on material they toured during their prime in a theoretical setlist. If it's the Beatles, that's Candlestick. If it's Arcade Fire, it's the latter half of the Reflektor tour etc.

Im actually with Todd on how important it should be to have a consensus. Imo since this is the ultimate fantasy draft, we should be considering the it to be the Beatles at their peak playing powers with 2020 stages / tech drawing from their entire catalogue.

at the very least I think the assumption should be "they have modern speakers"
trantsgiving can we please just move the live stream to like 6 or 7 pm?
I know for sure that one other person couldn’t make a stream any earlier so I’d have to choose between you two is the thing. Also 6pm is probably not possible for me either.

fuck yes.
This also gets at the Odd Future question of the coachella draft. Is Tyler slingin some Igor songs mid set? Frank doing some Blonde?

also after some research, I think the stream will be on YouTube. I wanted to be able to see everyone and play copyrighted music but I also don't want people who don't have zoom to have to jump through hoops to get on. Also, I probably don't have the best internet to stream from zoom and YouTube seems like it has a better interface for this stuff.

You just need a link to enter a zoom tho and playing music and seeing everyone is perfectly doable in zoom aswell.

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Music and seeing everyone is what I wanted to do in zoom but can’t w YouTube, but people would have to have it downloaded on their computer or phone right?

Gotcha! No, I don't think they do! Only the host iirc.

So you're just uploading a video now instead of having everyone hop into a meeting? I'm confused.

I’m gonna do some test runs this weekend and see which one I like more.

I think the first 2 (?) zoom meetings you hold, you can run them for over 40 mins+. After that, the max is 40 mins and then you gotta start the meeting over again. I know it's a bit of a pain but still to keep in mind of I guess.

I have the pro version of Zoom (no time limit, some other bonus functions) and could host if we need to be on over 40 minutes
