I mean, technically we should have probably just done the supplemental when Walaka stepped aside before. There wasn't really a process for him to hand it over to someone else indefinitely. It only ended up being a few rounds so it turned out more like a proxy situation in the end.
We're still selecting acts so the draft is continuing so I think the SD is the proper process but it would be nice if we have something close to consensus.
Option 1: Walaka is just done. The voting is among the remaining twenty-four.
Option 2: Walaka stays in and just has no free agents.
cdevaney I think there’s enough dispute to take it to a poll.
If it goes the way I don’t want to, that’s fine but I do think the draft ends when the drafting ends. We’d also have to redo the FA deadline or the reveals so it’s gonna change the game no matter what.
Agreed.
Just waiting to see if there are any other suggested solutions.
Side note: I have not opened any free agent messages.
im not positive about that. if a bunch of the top lineups end up at the top of this order, it could kinda kill the parity, but then again i guess that kinda happened in the coachella draft w cdev anyways.
everyone’s definition of “top lineups” is different though
true, but are you gonna tell me that there are no lineups you feel could become OP if the order fell a certain way?

Option 3: Supplemental Draft.
dont think anyone is for 1 and 2. It’s SD v Teddy stepping in again
We can power through one round today. Don’t need to push back FA reveals even if we’re still finishing up tomorrow
A poll is really what would prolong it
I think a poll is necessary barring consensus in our discussion and there seems to be two very different interpretations of the rules.
I have an appointment at 315. If it hasn't been resolved in discussion by the time I'm out then I'll run the poll tonight and we'll push free agent reveals to start on Monday.

Why don’t folks (trantsgiving and Pepe Silvia, mainly) want the extra round? Is it because the posters are done? Or smt else? Just curious to hear about the reasoning.

i mean ive stated why multiple times, my main issue is a possible last second fuckup in (my personal view of) parity. other than that, i don't not want it. i just think its very late for something this big.

I know Bing just wants the draft to be over tbh
I'm not the only one apparently also yes, my schedule and poster are done and redoing that is a hassle I'm not very fond about but whatever.

A few reasons, though I'm def one of the ones who has more or less checked out at this point in the draft so it's not something I care enough to argue about, and I probably won't go into it outside of this post:
1. Walaka has worked hard on curating a lineup he likes, and has stated his pleasure with his lineup several times. There's no need to take that away from him, especially at a time where he's obviously going through some really rough shit.
2. Teddy has contributed to walaka's lineup too when walaka had to bow out previously, and I don't see why he shouldn't be able to do so again.
3. A supplemental round would introduce a significant luck factor at a very late stage in the draft, and it would suck to be on the shit end of the snake and watching other people pick up Kendrick Lamar and Ray Charles and shit for no reason other than because people want to benefit off of walaka's misfortune.
In general this is coming off as vultures arguing over the meat and bones that walaka is forced to leave behind, and it's really bad form imo. I think the most elegant solution is to just let Teddy take over walaka's lineup, and then everybody still has the same lineup they had yesterday - I don't see why anybody shouldn't be satisfied with that.

This is the definition of a well thought-of and worded reasoning. Thanks. I don’t necessarily agree with your point three, but I think it’s only fair to keep walaka in the game (with Teddy finishing off the FA or not).
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
I don’t get how there would be more luck here than in how the draft order is originally randomized. It’s more likely to make it more fair since there’s a better chance someone who picks outside the top 10 originally will get a Chance now.
