Is there anyone out there who finds scheduling for these things fun distraction rather than anxiety producing distraction?
I'll be honest. I've had a tough week & my mind is really not focused on this right now. I just spent entirely too long on the poster and have made...not enough headway on the schedule whatsoever. Looking at it makes me wanna cry rn, tbh. Dramatic I know. But.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

i gochu. can you just post your daily?
thank uuuu Life Saver Pepe!
Yeah I've got the poster finished with the daily stuff all sorted. My stages besides the main are Daze (anything from more ambient electronic to orchestral stuff), Dance (self explanatory--more uptempo electro, hip-hop, some rock), and Dwell (SadBoi music). I can even let you know which things I'd like on which stage. Just the actual decision making of timing and ordering things...is where i get stressed

So I made a Spotify playlist for my festival. Instead of just clustering my favorite tracks of all the artists, I went with something more curated and intentional, kinda like a DJ mix.
It’s 27 songs. Runtime is under two hours. Please don’t use shuffle as the order is intentional.
this inspired me to shorten my playlist since I was at 34 hours (lol) but I can barely get it down to 9 hours without feeling like I’m missing something

on it, if you wanna message me what acts you know you want on certain stages go for it! bc i def dont know all of it lol
There's a lot more I'm working on concept-wise, but it'll be like a 15k max fest situated in the Redwood Forest where attendees are given a general location of where to drive/fly into but aren't provided the exact location until a couple days prior to the fest.

Will do!
I purposefully kept my number of acts under 100 (i think it is 91 when including the Repub Senators as one entity, but also at least two of mine are illegal bc already drafted lol) because I want to give 1.5+ hr sets to any group/artist that has more than one album to their name.

Catchella will be taking the spot of what was one of my favorite festivals in the world, Sasquatch, and take place on Memorial Day weekend at The Gorge.
Catchella’s focus is keyed around two main factors:
First, is to be welcoming to as diverse of an audience as possible. Catchella has all of the major categories of music that make up the modern festival landscape: with full stages dedicated to Rap, Pop, Jam, and Electronic music, and runs of different styles of all of these genres with a Latin run on Saturday, and different styles of Rap runs throughout the weekend. Catchella has many of the most critically acclaimed acts of all time between Led Zeppelin, John Coltrane, Van Morrison or Nico, but also has a stage dedicated to acts that are decided not critically acclaimed to make sure that everyone feels welcome.
Second, is to highlight acts that are difficult to see play live in 2020. This is through two different lenses: #1 Acts that are dead, defunct, or inactive. Ex: Zeppelin, John Coltrane, Michael Jackson, Grateful Dead, The Police, Destiny’s Child, The Allman Brothers. Its impossible to see any of these acts anymore unless you are Marty McFly. The other set of acts are acts that have a financial barrier to entry, with extremely expensive tickets for bad seats in Arenas or Stadiums such as: U2, Guns N’ Roses, Eric Clapton, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Eminem, or Garth Brooks. Sure, for diehard fans these are acts that tour (Clapton albeit only in NYC or LA recently) and can be seen, but for anything close to a good seat these shows will run fans upwards of $200-300 bucks and just getting in the door at a big show is over $100 bucks.
At the end of the day, this festival will have eight hours and forty five minutes of sets by Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, and Michael Jackson. That's what I'm most excited for, for sure.
