If we’re doing single elimination, what do you think we should do in the case of a tie?
My suggestion is to run an additional poll for that tie for 12/24 hours to determine who advances. It seems a bit more fair than randomization.
I support this approach rather than random or seeding. Random is.. well, random. Seeding doesn't take into account discussion of acts and lineups that happen once voting begins.

I mean if there is a change in the poll results then its probably just because someone is a good debater at that point.
I tentatively like this idea, with one big reservation: won't it be wildly skewed to benefit teams that are near the beginning of the snake, as they'll reasonably be able to snag 5 "higher rated/more desirable" picks in a row, til it eventually gets down to the last-pick team where tonssssssss of shit has been snagged that round already
I think you ramp it up as I mentioned in an earlier post. 1 act through 20 rounds. 2 through 25. 3 through 35, etc until we have all our acts. If you went from 1 to 5 you could just randomize the order at that point again.
Tranter said on the pod that the draft runners absolutely want Free Agents though, which is one of the worst parts of the entire game. I pay a lot of attention to this game, but I didn't look at a single free agent reveal list this year. I only looked at the posters and schedules that came with them. Not 1 time did I give a shit about those lists, and it reliably causes an obvious amount of crossover and for the front half of every scheduled day to look boring.
Maybe we should just toss the free agent reveals in lieu of public voting? I just want the free agents to fill the schedule and since we'll be arguing our lineup anyway, I'm fine just doing that during voting. But having all the extra acts is what makes it necessary imo
i think it would be reasonable to have this draft be 50 rounds considering the normal roo draft is 35 rounds and you’re in a team so you can cover more bases but those last rounds are going to be rough
FWIW, we've been all over the place with the number of rounds.

What does this mean? Having all the extra acts?
Drafting 5 acts at a time would feel very similar to FA. Imagine drafting 10 at the turn. Your just making it to where people have to dig deeper instead of seeing Men I Trust and Ezra Collective open a stage at a bunch of festivals. You have Truevine as a partner. I'm certain there would be no concern for you guys to run out of ideas.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I didn't realize you were saying to have only exclusive acts got 100 rounds. I'd rather share a couple names in free agency then lose out on a few picks because someone took 5 people I wanted

I think I’m for a schedule template if there can be variation for longer sets for jam acts, LN What option, things like that. Also letting us make some sets 1 hr 15 or even 30 mins would be nice. A la The National in 2019 or Bassnectar in 2018

Larry Farnsworth I forgot about Jackson. Is he playing still? If so, could two of the three person teams reform into 3 two person teams so we can lock this in at 16?
While I agree that free agents don't particularly change my opinion of a lineup, imo they can act as a glue that really brings the whole lineup together.

You arent losing that amount of acts tho. Its just more unique glue if we quickly draft out those last 50 acts over the course of 10 rounds.

theres gonna be a lot of acts that go and by the end I think we’ll be fighting over scraps. I get the issue with FAs but I like it as a nice wind down time at the end of a hectic draft to sort of fill in some holes and tie it together before heading into brackets. We always underestimate draft fatigue. The infinity 62 rounder was a good idea at the time but only bc 75 was an insane amount of rounds to begin with.
