Definitely should be more exclusives than free agents. I like free agency because that's when you can get creative without broadcasting your plan to everyone

I voted no because I think some people would be unable to think of enough acts to complete their lineups if they couldn’t share acts. And that would be funny.

i'm not involved in this poll so i won't vote, but when i've drafted FA's are always profoundly uninteresting to me. uninteresting to pick, and uninteresting to read who others pick.
the fun is in the competition of the drafting. it's also fun to learn about artists by seeing less well known artists get drafted, but often people just wait until free agency to pick them, at which point they get lost in the sea of other free agents.

i voted no but i am most interested in some form of a compromise. would prefer like 5 extra rounds w multi picks, + like 25 free agents or something. i agree w postjack that FA's can be very tedious and i can imagine it would only be more so with a partner, so i hope that we do have them but just keep it very limited.

I voted no based on the spirit of the conversation tho the wording here is interesting.
just to be clear, “yes” to the question doesn’t mean there’ll be 75 FAs. Shoul’ve been more clear when I posted the poll. There’ll be something similar to what you or Truevine proposed.

all imo, i realize this is a minority opinion.
agree with all of this. Don’t get the appeal of FAs at all

Agreed. I wouldn't have been able to do what I did in the Infinity Draft without free agents, and the reveal wouldn't have been as interesting.

I like free agency as a way to fill out superjams without dedicating full sets to someone you only want an appearance out of.
Generally I also find it helpful for early tent sets and Thursdays.
I’m somewhere between these. Idk where that puts me on this. I like the idea of doing rounds of multiple picks instead of FAs tho I think? But being able to just compile a list is also helpful bc you can fill out your lineup more cohesively. So idk.
Mind you in the past I’ve always just used my “leftovers” as my FAs. I’ve never put too much thought into them other than making sure the leftovers never got drafted. (Which I failed miserably at in the coach draft).

See I think FAs are the precise reason the early sets and Thursdays are uninteresting. If we drafted those things they would be worth considering more when going through a lineup.

I have this mindset too, and I think if you think about how this mindset effects your enjoyment of the last 10 or so rounds of any draft, you begin to realize how much damage Free Agency does to the game experience. You begin drafting things near the end where its like "fuck it Ill take one of these free agents and make them mine but this doesn't really matter at this point because I have 75 acts that I like coming my way in a few rounds from now."

That’s p much exactly what I do. I also just saw your post in the other thread and am board with this. It still leaves like 20 acts if you want that novelty thing to fill out a SJ like cdev said but vast majority are exclusives. This is a good compromise I think.
Nothing’s finalized yet. Can you come with some plan so that we have more than 35 picks in 35 rounds? Maybe let’s still leave 40-50 free agents?
Sure.
First 20 Rounds: 1 act selected per turn Rounds 21-25: 2 acts selected per turn Rounds 26-30: 3 acts selected per turn Rounds 31-35: 4 acts selected per turn Rounds 36-40: 5 acts selected per turn
90 unique acts with 20 free agents. Only 5 additional rounds. Every single round throughout the entire draft would be extremely compelling. Left in 20 free agents because it appears there are people that like to share acts with other lineups. But you could adjust the above to get to a different mixture and satisfy the other side... which I honestly still struggle to comprehend. It would be hard to get the 5 acts selected between you and a teammate? Good. Be better at planning and continue to pay attention throughout the draft. Plan ahead. Strategize.
