Just checked the Boston Calling Twitter feed, no "big news tomorrow" teaser. Unless they've decided to surprise us, it looks like this week is out for the lineup drop.

smart choice, considering WWWY is dominating social media rn

Social media isn't a limited resource and multiple topics trend simultaneously. Haven't the last few weeks seen multiple lineup drops most weeks, with each festival discussed by those who are interested in talking about that particular festival?
The longer Boston Calling waits, the greater the likelihood that someone outside the area who's decided to travel for a festival this year will decide to spend their hard-earned dollars on another festival which caught their eye because Boston Calling was too slow to announce.

the hype for WWWY has been bigger than anything i've seen since 2020. i see more people talking about that lineup than Coachella's. it will be extremely hard for any other fest in 2022 to get that amount of social media talk

It's also a huge outlier in the sense that it's pitched at people with very specific tastes. That's either the lineup of your wildest dreams or nothing you'd travel for. There's no middle ground for WWWY.
People who aren't in the "wildest dreams" category, especially on the east coast, are anxiously awaiting Boston Calling and Gov Ball, so they can make plans (except for the huge number of people who really only care about their local festival and are choosing between their local festival or not going to their local festival this year.)
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

you are greatly overestimating the amount of people that care about either of these festivals

yea we are talking about maybe two thousand people who really care
If that means there's no room for MGK then I'm more than ok with it. I know Cage into Foo probably feels uninspired to folks but I bet it would be damn good time.

Jamie xx into Disclosure on blue during that and id be very happy

Good point. The vast majority of people who really care about a festival lineup are the people who live in the immediate area where the festival is being held.
The people on this list who travel from state-to-state or continent-to-continent to attend festivals are the exception to the rule.
Which takes a highlighter pen as to why it doesn't matter whether Boston Calling drops its lineup the same week as the WWWY chatter on social media. (Ironically, that huge spike in WWWY talk on Twitter dropped just as quickly as it exploded...which is what often happens in social media. Things blow up for a day or two and are then replaced by other topics.)
Did we ever get an idea how or where they were going to add a 4th outdoor stage in 2020?
Have wondered this for a while. I feel like it should be as close to the blue stage as possible. the between-set downtime over there makes people leave, makes the beginning of each set kinda sadly empty sometimes (particularly early in the day) because people have wandered around and don't find their way back until a few songs into whoever was next. with a fourth stage over there somewhere they could ping-pong between artists and keep bodies in the area. i dont think there's room for them to go side-by-side right next to each other, and the logistics of putting a stage at the opposite end of the turf field seem difficult, so i can't really picture where it would be... but that general area is my guess/hope.

Yeah finding a way to duel 2 stages in that field the way Red/Green do seems to make sense, just wasnt sure if there was really enough space to pull it off unless it was an intentionally smaller stage where VIP was, facing the bleachers. Still really unclear what their plan was from the 2020 lineup. Could use some wild "Maybe they got access to Harvard Stadium" tomfoolery to bide my time waiting for the lineup.

I feel like I have some faint memory of there being talks of having it just across the field from the Blue stage and getting rid of the vendors on that hill, but now I feel like that might've just been us discussing options here because I can't find anything about it.
They removed Rage from the lineup page on their website....
EDIT: Looks like they put it back up
