I'm not a fan of the guy at all, but trying to paint him a pedophile for some stupid tweets about teenage girls when he was 18-20 is a big stretch.
Theres probably a lot more shit buried somewhere pre twitter. And you cant just say the dudes being dumb cause he was 18. If everyone excused what people did at 18 we would be in a bigger pile of….. wait, sorry, bret kavanaugh is a supreme court justice, nvm.
Yeah probably, I'm just mostly saying find a better example of the behavior than this. If we were all held accountable for this stupid things we tweeted in our youth, like 60% of people would be caught up in controversy.
Megan or Doja would be so out of place there I think, I think similar to 2020 they are just gonna ignore the more top 50 acts. I could see it being this, just minus Megan
good point, i would just hate to see only one non male artist in the top 9
Don't forget about that Avril Lavigne Instagram follow in that initial group of more Boston Calling follows (before they then followed 50 more artists to confuse the issue). Plus, she's doing the Rotisserie Emo festival in Vegas, so we know she's doing at least one other festival.
inb4 Tyler Childers is subbing for Metallica or some shit like they did with Isbell and Foo Fighters
I'd bet that Isbell was slated to be a Blue closer with Brittany Howard on that stage right before him, just like we had The Decemberists -> Fleet Foxes a few years ago.
The sponsors are gonna be beating down the doors of Boston Calling to advertise to that sweet sweet male 35-40 market
that's the entirety of the boston radio market tbf
As the target demo here I for one am glad there is a festival that chooses to have rock headliners to counterprogram Coachella this year and moreso what GovBall has become the last few years

they were the second and third highest billed names of the day, they were the red and blue stage closers

I'd take Kanye West and Billie Eilish over Foo Fighters and Metallica in the top line without giving it a second thought. I had been a "Rock over Pop" guy for a long time, but there's been a really interesting evolution in pop in the last 5 years. Instead of pop artists taking all of their cues from Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, the melismatic oversinging and Vegas showtunes vibe have given way to much more interesting, rock and roll influenced songcraft on the part of many rising artists labelled pop nowadays.
And after spending some quality time with Donda on Spotify last year -- actually listened to it more in 2021 than any one Guided By Voices or Wilco album, which is saying a lot, given my musical tastes -- I was so impressed by his ability to come up with some incredibly sublime melodies and interesting arrangements. Still not a fan of his taste in baseball caps, though.
(I'm more of a rock and roll guy than a rock guy, actually. There's a difference.)

The poster generally suggests the running order of who's on which stage and when, but it's not an exact science.

I can respect that and totally agree that the evolution has been cool to see…on the other hand I tried Donda and just couldn’t get into it….and live performances I’ve seen from Billie havent done it for me…. Not sure how many more chances there will be to see Metallica which is why I’d be hyped to see them (similar if Rage was still there)
RTJ and King Gizzard being on the same day which is decidedly NOT the Metallica day is unfortunate
metallica is in California on the Friday, the only day they could get them was Sunday. I’m guessing Rage was supposed to be Saturday but Metallica couldn’t do that so the Strokes got moved there
Paris Jackson and Paris Texas. Always finding new combos to put together. Avril is gonna be the one act thats gonna sell single day tix at any fest she is booked at.
definitely more well balanced than 2020 but still falls off pretty quickly
This. After the top 2 lines (including the headliner as the top line) i care about 0 people friday, really like 2 people saturday, and casually like 2 people sunday. Big dropoff.
