Paris Jackson doing a set of MJ covers would be wired but without knowing anything about her I'm assuming she does synth pop which would mark that one as tired

1) Never has there been less Americana/Roots/Folk in one of their lineups. It seems like Beach Road, Newport, and Solid Sound took all of the air out of the room vis a vis the dreaded radius clauses, and must have locked down everybody.
2) Apart from that one complaint, this is a very strong lineup. I'm not seeing any of my personal top two dozen favorites anywhere in the lineup, but I'm seeing a lot artists listed whom I'm interested to very interested in seeing.
3) That initial group of new Instagram follows is pretty much all here.

Rufus-HAIM-Avril-Cheap Trick is quite the second line - hilarious and respectable at the same time
edit: think my move here is to see if secondary market tanks for 3-day passes with people selling now that Rage is gone, and just do Sunday if it doesn't happen. Others here going, let's chat

Kinda feels like a half assed attempt at going in the Shaky Knees direction of committing to alt/indie, but I've seen worse lineups. Pretty ok, I'd go if I lived in the area, wouldn't travel for kinda lineup. Metallica for Rage was really best case for a replacement on such short notice.
Friday: Foo Fighters HAIM Avril Lavigne Cheap Trick The Struts The Backseat Lovers
Saturday: The Strokes King Gizzard Black Pumas Hinds Frances Forever
Sunday: Metallica Weezer Modest Mouse Japanese Breakfast DJO
that's what i'd like to see. obviously would miss some but it's overall good. the price for this fest does seem too high compared to others I go to BUT Metallica alone is a $250 at the stadium show in Vegas (was $350 for the early entry one at Atlanta) and Foo Fighters is like $115 for GA in Denver, so I can justify the cost in just those two bands.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. A day with Cheap Trick, Pom Pom Squad, Oliver Tree, and The Struts feels like a win to me. (It's nice to see them book a band that actually existed in the 70's, for once.) Plus, while I wouldn't pay to see Foo Fighters or Avril Lavigne headline a show, I'm sure I'll enjoy them if I catch either of them.

Sent this to my significant other who is more on the Top 40 listening side and she was surprisingly into it. I'd travel for Goose and enough stuff that I like on here. Only issue is that it is our kids' birthday weekend. If we can figure that out or if the older ones want to go we may make it.

Very quick second impressions:
4) There's no comedy, DJ, podcast, or performance art listed. Does this mean that they're not going to be using the arena at all? (If that's the case, I'm wondering if that has something to do with COVID-19).
5) Are they really adding a fourth music stage? Without additional programming, that seems doubtful.
As someone not super high on Metallica, having Glass Animals, Goose and Ripe all on Sunday is a pretty big win for me, pretty curious how that scheduling works out

For my tastes I am not disappointed by this at all. Also 2019 which was a horrendous lineup when it came out if you look at it now a lot of those Who? undercard names are pretty legit now. I trust BC, maybe that's naive.
Friday Foos Rufus Haim Avril Cheap Trick Oliver Tree The Struts Paris Jackson (because why not?) Pom Pom Squad
Sat Strokes RTJ Gizz Black Pumas Orville Sudan Archives Celisse Frances Forever
Sunday - Weakest day for me as of right now Metallica Modest Mouse J brekkie Cults Horsegirl
he/they '12 - Firefly '13 - Firefly, Made In America '14 - Firefly, Made In America '15 - Mountain Jam (Sunday), Firefly, Pitchfork, Made In America '16 - Boston Calling, Firefly, Osheaga, Made In America, Roots Picnic NYC '17 - Boston Calling, Gov Ball, Firefly (Sunday), Pitchfork, Day For Night '18 - Boston Calling, Mountain Jam, Osheaga '19 - Form, Firefly (Sunday) '22 - Boston Calling, Firefly '24 - Solid Sound, Soundside
Sunday is definitely the strongest here overall. I'm pissed that I have to miss Kenny/Orville/Pumas on Saturday to go to a wedding. (It's in the city so maybe i can pop in for early sets beforehand...? TBD.) Friday is definitely weakest, but it'll be a good time no matter what.

Ugh everyone I wanna see is on separate days and the headliners aren't my cup of tea, but this is objectively a very sold lineup, especially considering the circumstances, and Metallica as a replacement for rage is an excellent get.
Really hoping Black Pumas closes blue on Saturday and it’s a Gizz > RTJ > Strokes run on green and red
I'd bet money that it's Black Pumas -> RTJ to close Blue and Gizz -> Strokes on the Red and Green.
Id be surprised to see RTJ close the Blue, If they had to move things around and put The Strokes in what was Rages spot I wonder if they would rearrange everything for the sake of fan bases. Their previous decision to have Major Lazer into Tool makes think theyd have no problem doing RTJ into the Strokes with Gizz closing the blue
saw Cheap Trick at Summerfest 2008 (?). great, fun show but can honestly say I never expected to see them on a festival poster on the same line as Rufus and Haim
Honestly, this hits the mark for me, not as strong on the headliners for my taste as Foo/RCHP/Rage, but a few more solid names in the 2nd line I am looking forward to and some smaller names I am definitely looking forward to catch. None of the days seem as much of a dud in as Fri/Sun of 2019 and I still had a hell of a time that year.
I echo basically everyone here-- very solid top-3, all things considered, and the subs are quite the unique mix. I give BC a ton of credit for staying in the same lane as 2020 while still feeling like a fresh lineup compared to all the other "interesting" 2022 lineups thus far.
Would have loved to see some more hip hop on here, if they could have swapped Avril/Cheap Trick for like Earl or Freddie Gibbs. Hell I wonder if there's a chance Brockhampton was originally slated for Friday.
That being said, if a lighter hiphop presence means we miss the current pop hiphop acts, I'm not gonna complain
