I'll watch their set if they're on Red or Green before Metallica, but agree - seems lazy in 2022. Who has wanted to see Weezer and not gotten to at this point?

not to mention both them and rtj played in 2017. would have been nice to get some new subs
Do we think there’s a chance your Blue could be Red? I know they did Odesza into Tame but that seems more on par than Rufus before Foos. Maybe they attempt to keep Green and Red the “rock” stage that night? Probably more personal interest cause I’d like to catch some of Avril and Haim before the Foos set but not enough to go to Blue

nah Rufus is without a doubt the red closer and Haim is def the blue closer. I could see Oliver and Avril switching though
Always wanted to try out Solid Sound, especially the year clipping played. honestly though the only way theyd get me there instead of BC this year is if they had some crazy reunions. While this isnt my fave BC lineup, i still like it quite a bit and ive held on to this pass since late 2019. Hoping they go back to June next time

How early do the crowds show up here? At OSL getting barricade for Saturday and Sunday main stage was very easy if you showed up within the first hour. By easy I mean "I don't want to run like at Lolla". I plan to just stay at the barricade for Metallica

if you want barricade id stay at the stage from the 3rd to last act onwards

me because the one time they came anywhere near me I was out of town. also missed a second chance because I didn't expect the Hella Mega Tour to go on as planned.
If I was putting money on it, Id bet King Gizz and Black Pumas are swapped for Sat, same with a few of the earlier acts. It just seems like they could keep Hip Hop and R&B/Soul train running on the Green/Red with an eclectic Blue stage.
All about that Sunday though, curious if they would book someone that aggressively against the Headliner, I feel like they tried to do that 2017 and people complained enough to make them change the schedule. Who knew Chance the Rapper and Sigur Ros shared so many fans.

I think sound bleed would be the bigger issue, there was so much Chance bleeding through at the end of Sigur Ros. Though that might not be an issue with Glass Animals.

Yeah I guess I was assuming it was fans reactions that made them back down having Chance and Sigur at the same time, although looking back it looks like it was only a 30 min shift or so. I dont think Ive seen them have the blue contest a headliner more than 10-15 min since that 2017 fest (aside from the arena)
while i dont really care for them much i will say Glads Animals are a fantastic booking. resale is absolutely insane for all of their shows. some being 400min

Got lucky enough to see them at the Sinclair in Feb 2020, awesome show to watch those guys rock such a small venue. After seeing some of their production last year its gonna be a high energy, fun as hell show.

yuppp, that sinclair show was my last before the covid shutdown. so much fun.
as far as that clashfinder mock-up, i agree with everyone above that they won't have anyone opposing headliners (except maybe in the arena). i figure glass animals close blue but it'll be conflicting with weezer not metallica
this would look a lot better if we had MMJ or NIN in Weezers spot now that i’m visualizing it. glad we dodged mgk at least
Eh, NIN's a headliner at this festival.
Actually, Limp Bizkit would be perfect in Weezer's spot. They'd be a heavy rock lead-in to Metallica, and they're definitely having a moment. Sure, they're dumb, but the kind of band that a lot of people enjoy ironically (Ironic enjoyment is what Weezer's been all about after their first two albums.)

I've seen them twice, doing the Blue Album and assorted hits at the Orpheum and at Boston Calling. They're not a bad live act, but they don't seem particularly inspired on stage. Even if you're not feeling every note and lyric, learn how to act as if you are, you know?

I was a couple rows back for Tool and I only started making my way up half way through Cage the Elephant (act before Tool).

I'll be really happy if I can see all of Oliver Tree and Cheap Trick. Catching The Struts and Avril will be a bonus.

I can't believe that they felt the need to make sure that Brandi Carlile wrapped up before Travis Scott. I can't think of two acts less likely to have audience overlap.

Yeah agree, I've also seen them twice (one from the lawn at a shed when they toured with Panic at the Disco, which I was sufficiently drunk enough for to not notice if they cared or not) and then at BC in 2017. Especially at the BC set noticed exactly what you're talking about.

I was for some reasons very close at that 2017 set, and it has kind of turned me off from Weezer. They could not have cared less, they sound fine have hits, fun if you've got a nice buzz, but Rivers does not care, and they tape the lyrics to every song across the front of the stage. If he needs it fine, but that bugs me.

If I lived in NYC, I'd be very unhappy with Gov Ball, but I do respect the decision to narrow their stylistic focus. It's really difficult to book a wide-open multi-genre festival at the level of Gov Ball and Boston Calling (or smaller) and present enough of any particular thing to appeal to fans of that thing. Really, you've either got to be as big as Coach/Lolla/Bonnaroo/ACL/Outside Lands to do that, unless you do a great job of curating and luck out with artist availability. Boston Calling hit that sweet spot in Sept 2014 (or maybe it just seems that way to me, since there was so much I liked in the lineup. The same people who've bought Boston Calling tickets to see Metallica, Converge, or Turnstile may not have been particularly happy with that lineup.)
this looks Solid(heh) surprised at the Japanese Breakfast crossover
If I drove, I would be all over this every two years. (I'm sure you can get a bus out to North Adams, but hotel rooms within walking distance of the site are few and far between. For most, it's a situation where you find accommodations within a half hour drive.) Wilco is one of my top few favorites, and they always curate an interesting lineup.

I'm starting a clashfinder, and I'm only now noticing that there's 17 acts on every day, too much to pack into 3 stages. I'm guessing the fourth stage will be mainly the smaller local artists from the lineup

feel free to use mine as a base, it worked out by making friday a full day
I get the disappointment that BC is pretty down this year on Hip hop, but honestly the Gov Ball lineup is pretty much what I would like to avoid at BC. I wouldn't have hated Cudi or Cole in one of the headliner spots and there's definitely a few undercard acts I would have checked out, but most of it just isn't my jam.
After a few days of just letting my massive BC lineup playlist play on shuffle, I'm not finding myself actively skipping many tracks. Actually really looking forward to Sunday afternoon at this point across Djo, Cam Meekins, Oompa and Cliff Notez.
