NIN is about as good as a replacement you can get though they do look a little out of place at the top of that day's lineup lol
Not a fan, but their show at the TD with Godspeed opening was very memorable. Same for their set at Panorama that was posted, they did a great cover of Bowie's I Can't Give Everything Away.

I am surprised that the social media response has been so negative. I would have guessed people buying tickets for Foos and Rage would also like Metallica and NIN

I think it looks better on paper then it actually plays out, myself being in a similar position. Ive actively listened to Foo/Rage and would likely be willing to buy tickets to see them on their own if it worked out schedule/cost wise, I dont think ive ever gone out of my way to put on NIN or Metalica.
Also these are probably the same people that didnt understand why Travis Scott wasn't booked again in 2020, you know, morons.
Honestly very happy for this. I too will need to get more familiar with NIN but that's an artist I know are very requested and they don't have any TX dates, so this works good for me. Would be the first time checking them out.

Just dont expect all the hits and youll be fine. They went a couple tours without playing Closer and the casuals got pissed. Would be cool if they did a pre 1996 set again.

I thought the same, both seem like good fits. They're both more aggressive than the Foos and RHCP and lack the rarity of Rage? the new trio is better than 2020 imo

The amount of people who are mad that Foos and Rage aren't playing, and are directing it toward the bands is mind blowing, and frankly disintegrates whatever faith in humanity I had left. I'm sorry they can't playthrough the death of a brother and injury that required surgery. Get over yourselves losers.

and way better undercard
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Liam Gallagher, Phoebe Bridgers, Orville Peck, Dinosaur Jr., Mew, Pup, and Beabadoobee on the poster made for a solid undercard, imho.

yeah 2020 had some lower line gems (Dinosaur Jr at BC would have been really good) but 2022 is much better overall

Between Rage and Foos, you can be sure that Boston Calling will never book Spinal Tap to headline.

I can't disagree. Not counting the top line, there are around 15 artists I have some interest in seeing. Not that I can see them all, due to likely conflicts, but it's a pretty strong undercard, not even counting some interesting local/regional performers, too.
