3 Day tickets down to $110 on StubHub, even with fees that’s less than $300 for a pair… wild.
absolutely crazy cheap. i had a "great deal" in 2020 when i bought a group-sale rate and rolled them over for 2 years and now i'm going to have to sell half of them at a loss. sucksss but oh well, not much else to do now.
weren't they bumping up face value prices last week? seems like a bad idea with how many are on the secondary market at less than half price.

I don’t think you’d see this kinda firesale if it was NIN/Strokes/Metallica from the get go. Just shows you how much Foo/Rage we’re all or nothing for some people

yep, no clue why they did that
Hope some people don't think to check the secondary market first
insane to me that Beach Road weekend, which is much smaller and less accessible is at 360 resale currently
Well, if you can afford to stay on Martha's Vineyard, you can probably afford to pay more for festival passes.
Plus, Americana/Folk/Roots/Whatever festivals tend to draw a lot of 40-70 year old people, who may have more disposable income on average than somewhat younger people raising young children, as well as high school & college students. While I do see younger people in the crowd when these artists play Boston, I see a *lot* of people roughly my own age in the audience, too.
(Plus, Beach Road Weekend is hugely appealing to people who like the sort of music they feature. Festivals with a narrow genre focus tend to make people who like the genre they focus upon very happy. Seriously, three of my top dozen favorite currently active artists are in the lineup. That's usually the case for me with Newport Folk every year, too. There's wisdom in trying not to be everything to everyone.)

They likely didn’t have two major draws/ticket movers drop out unexpectedly.
Even if they did lose a couple of artists on the top two lines, they could have easily replaced them with very similar artists. If Wilco dropped out and was replaced by My Morning Jacket, there wouldn't have been many complaints. You could replace the Avett Brothers with The Head and the Heart. In an ironic role reversal, Ryan Adams could replace Dawes.
A similar dynamic would be in play at an EDM or Rap festival. If you like the genre enough to buy a festival pass to see two or three days of that particular genre of music, you'll probably be happy with whatever they come up with.
For better or for worse, both Foo Fighters and Rage Against The Machine occupy their own particular place in popular music and there really aren't any other artists of similar stature who play the same type of music as either band. But you could replace a Beach Road, Electric Daisy Carnival, or Gamp Flog Gnaw headliner easily and still keep everybody happy.

It would be interesting to conduct market research on the motivations of pass buyers to multi-genre festivals like Boston Calling. My educated guess is that research would reveal that a large percentage of one-day passes are bought by people primarily interested in the day's headliner, while full festival passes are sold to people who are interested in seeing a broad range of performers or are simply into the festival atmosphere.
This is the rare edition of Boston Calling without one single artist in my personal top 25, but there are probably more artists that I want to see in this lineup than in most of the previous editions, from a couple of bucket list headliners I've never seen to a few rising newer artists I'm curious about. (I wasn't really a Jason Isbell fan until I saw him at Boston Calling. I suspect that I might walk away from this year's edition similarly a new fan of one band or another.)

so I never buy really anything on Stubhub, but may aim for Sunday if day passes go down enough so I can catch Glass Animals. Sorry if this is a stupid question but is it normally OK to trust things on Stubhub for festivals cuz they are wristbands and can't be faked? how would i know a posting is legit lol

Got a firefly Weekend pass for $100 last year. Shipped to my house in 2 days. Was very pleased and will do it again.
OK, just got some intel. Top Shelf Cookies will be doing ice cream sandwiches at Boston Calling, and they always partner with high-end super premium ice cream makers, so there's that.
Also, checked out their site and their cookies look incredible. They will have six different varieties at BC.
Trying to put it out of mind since I know its going to take longer than I want it to to actually come out... I do need to start locking down a parking situation and probably some sort of bag for the weekend. In 2019, the booths handing out freebie fanny packs made me realize just how useful and non-intrusive they can be at the fest
It is pretty wild we are getting into the home stretch, less than a month to go!

depends on where you’re staying but my personal parking recommendation is park at Alewife and take the red line to Harvard

Coming from the south, and honestly tried a few things with the T in the past but ended up fairing decently just buying spots in garages in the Harvard square area for the weekend. Wasnt THAT much more expensive vs T station parking and fares for 2.

It's a longer ride, but sometimes I park at Quincy Adams. It's less driving coming in from the south though. I think it's only $3 to park on Sat/Sun also.
