I do have an artist that I didn’t feel like disputing because they featured on one song in the 2010s with remaining members. That would count as “new music” right?
If they reunited to record and release new music as themselves after 2009 then that would constitute new music. We can always poll it after you've made your selection but you may lose an alternate in the time that elapses.

What did The Doors do to make themselves ineligible? I dont see any music in the 2010s on wiki and Jim Morrison has been dead since before I was born.
I feel like this would be the issue in question:
In 2013, the remaining members of the Doors recorded with rapper Tech N9ne for the song "Strange 2013", appearing on his album Something Else, which features new instrumentation by the band and samples of Jim Morrison's vocals from the song "Strange Days".[98] In their final collaboration before Manzarek's death, the three surviving Doors provided backing for poet Michael C. Ford's album Look Each Other in The Ears.

Yeah, but they weren't credited as the Doors, were they? I'd also argue that with Manzarek also having since passed, it puts another layer on it. If it went to a poll, I'd be fine with it.
What makes the Floyd thing tricky is that a lot of the stuff on was done by Richard Wright who died before it was released iirc.
yeah, mostly of why assumed it was fine.
im fine with the idea of people who did hard research being rewarded with this being a new draft. i was clear from the beginning that with the other draft in full swing the past week, that wouldn't be me.
what im not super fine with is getting fucked out of a 4th to ultimately move back a spot in the 1st, over a technicality that no person in their right mind would consider to make Pink Floyd "Active".

I hate to do this, but does anyone want to take over for me? trantsgiving? Realizing I really don't have time this week to research and keep up with the pace

Just not the most encouraging start to the game.
I would say put it to a poll, but you already repicked.
My view on this whole thing is pretty lenient, tbh. I'm in favor of acts right on the bubble being eligible.

I have no idea how it was credited. I suppose that would be the at question if someone drafted them and someone else disputed it.

yeah whatever i think its too late at this point. wasnt trying to put it to a poll and let other acts keep going.
Since im up, i guess ill take Cdevs advice and use my time to clear shit up.
I'd like to take the Beastie Boys, and I believe their inactivity on both the touring and music release front since Adam Yauchs death in 2012 should make them eligible.

I tend to agree. But Floyd is more iffy - full album, newly recorded material - than the Doors thing. Then again, I really don't care about the Doors. I only mostly don't care about Pink Floyd.

Yeah I'm in favor of a common sense approach to this. Like if the two remaining Doors guys were touring next year as the Doors then sure ineligible. But the three dudes recording some shit for Skrillex's album, and he and his label decide it's cooler to list it as "featuring the Doors"? Nah. Especially since Manzarek died since then, I think it passes the smell test.
