Can't understate how shocked I am by this result. A couple of weeks ago I thought there was no way Dan Mullen would get fired. I think he's gone after what happened tonight.

Nothing worse than a decision to just lay down and give up. I'd rather not convert and lose than just punt the ball away and still lose.
It's one of the reasons I like heupel at Tennessee. 16s left in the first half and we ran a quick offense to get a FG. Ended up being the difference in the game. If you don't try to win, you probably won't.
Can't understate how shocked I am by this result. A couple of weeks ago I thought there was no way Dan Mullen would get fired. I think he's gone after what happened tonight.
And to think the Gators were 21 pt favorites smh. Mullen really does not give a shit anymore! The team has no heart, we recruit nowhere near the level to compete with our peers, he has made no good coaching personnel decisions during his tenure, and he takes no responsibility for anything. How tf did we keep Grantham after last year? Even after starting 4-4 I still thought lets get new coordinators in here and start fresh with Mullen, but I have no confidence in him to turn this team around. And even in the years we've been good under him, the lack of energy and desire to win has fizzled at times. We look like a team of dead fish and no one is going to want to come play here under him. Coach O is already fired and he is coaching more passionately than Mullen even when we just had the 1 loss to Alabama. Idk who is out there that would be better right now, but there is no way in hell Dan Mullen is going to turn this into a championship team. He'll probably get one more year, but his firing seems inevitable at this point.
Anyways, your boys played damn well regardless. I'm a big cock guy now

Texas Tech hires Joey McGuire from Baylor as head coach. I have never heard of this guy but apparently he's a Texas high school legend and should be able to recruit well to Lubbock. This follows Georgia Southern hiring Clay Helton last week. I was opining with a friend earlier this season that we are eventually going to get a guy who is hired after week 8 or something like that and coaches the rest of the season. Could happen soon!

His current contract runs through 2026, so I can only imagine that the buyout would be absolutely insane right now. I saw his contract got "restructured". Wonder what each party gave up in that process.

I like Nebraska sticking with Frost. At some point you have to trust that you hired a guy that can be successful and give them a real shot. You cant keep going into the hiring pool every 3-4 years or that gets noticed.

Ya I’m not surprised they kept him. They’ve been competitive in pretty much every game before shitting the bed doing something stupid, and they were done no favors by drawing OSU, Michigan, and MSU as their division crossovers. They’re a STRONG 3-7. And if they fire their golden boy what they hell are they gonna do next? You’re really staring into the abyss at that point.
