didn't even bother with electronic. There are some good acts but I feel like most either weren't big enough or wouldn't translate to a televised setting well.
I also think big reunions would draw more eyes in a live stream situation. I doubt anyone would say Talking Heads are bigger than the Stones but one has been touring forever and one hasn’t.
It seems like that's the balance, right? You're trying to find acts that'll fill a stadium and that will get people to tune in. Also acts that are good, ideally.

ended up not pulling the trigger, but sort of surprised no one took Jarre, 3 of the highest attended concerts of all time, bet his stadium show would be ill
electronic was hard. You either had to get Daft Punk, put the electronic act in the daytime or move one of your bigger acts to a worse time slot
Jay-Z is bigger than Nine Inch Nails for sure but for scheduling I thought it made way more sense for NIN to be after dark.

yeah by the end you can take a couple of risks but you gotta make sure you’re bringing in a diverse base. If you’re doing all dad rock or pop, no ones gonna spend money all day. It’s usually just a one time payment. You also gotta get the bases who have the most money at times which is why old appeal is important.
-greater general widespread appeal -living musicians in MUCH better touring shape. Paul, Jeff, sean all being in much better vocal shape than bobby flowers -replacing John and George are huge shoes to fill, but Bonham is arguably the greatest rock drummer of all time and absolutely just as integral of a part
Grohl with Queens Of The Stone Age I think shows he’s better than just famous and could play with Zep. He didn’t cross my mind when I was choosing but I also think having someone super famous like that could work against your show.
I'm kinda surprised that nobody subbed in Grohl for Bonham. Maybe it was too obvious...
is he really *that* good of a drummer? Or just famous?
I think better and much better known than Jr. Maybe not as well known as Phil Collins, though. I've never really seen his drumming skills dismissed regardless.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I sort of don't buy Talking Heads as a huge ticket mover.
assuming if they came back the only arenas they could really sell out would be MSG, maybe staples, but I think it would make more sense for them/fans to do like a radio city/greek run of shows.
*maybe also something like United
Yeah, don't see it this way. Not only have the Heads not played a show since 1984, but they didn't even play that many shows when they did tour. For a one-off show, they could quickly sell out a stadium. There's 30-40 years of fans that have never seen them play a show
