Strategically it’s legit the dumbest thing Potent could do if he’s mafia.

So yeah, strategically a gamble but for those of us who've been playing together for a while, it can be fun to throw in some curveballs and take chances like that especially when the Mafia team feels quite certain Inspector is gone, which in this scenario if Potent is faking I'd assume they feel certain Tranter was Inspector.
With role reveals in play, I actually think a role reveal at this stage in the game with all three Maf alive isn't even thatttt risky: if we don't believe Potent is telling the truth, OK, we vote him out and learn he is Mafia but then...we are still at D4 with two Maf left and as i've conveyed, beyond Jostles i'm not sure who the third is with Potent if he's faking and I don't think others have that piece figured out either, so they could quite easily still bring out the W

If you want to vote for Potent go ahead. I’m going to base my votes on the assumption that mafia don’t make unnecessarily stupid plays that could end up blowing up the game in their face when they already are so close to winning anyway.
I remember using the same logic you’re using when mafia self whacked Jaz that one game. I said to myself “if a claimed inspector lives after the reveal he/she is mafia” yet the mafia played off the fact it was not common or normal. Play the facts, not the “odds”.
OK, Ms. Pedantic - I didn't literally mean "always". How about - you are suspicious of me way more often than not? And it took a lot of work in changing how I play to get to the point where you aren't suspicious of me.
I can't answer why Dan would respond the way he is. If you find it believable, whatever - go ahead and exile me, you'll see my role revealed at the beginning of D4.

Sorry, I've been keeping up with the thread but not responding to anything. Tbh I just can't ignore the degree to which Potent's actions don't align with his supposed role as Inspector. You'd think I'd be happy with being cleared by the Inspector but it just feels off to me. That being said, I also agree with BKB's point that a mafia-Potent wouldn't need to do this; they could probably pretty easily just coast since they only need one more kill.
Regardless, I've been mildly suspicious of Jortles this whole game and can't quite put my finger on why. I think he could fit with either Dan or Potent as partners, and I'd be okay with voting him off. Given that it's a near certainty that either Potent or Dan are Mafia, that leaves us with a 50/50 shot at snagging a Mafia out of the remaining four players (discounting oneself as Town, of course). Though now that I think about it we have a 50/50 shot between Potent and Dan also. So it ends up being a 50/50 shot of the game ending regardless, but at least we'd force the Mafia to make a decision regarding Potent.
So that's one idea I'd be okay with. I have a slight town read on BKB and no clue whatsoever on KPO.
I have mixed feelings about you (Rummy) also. I think you could fit with either Dan or Potent as Mafia.
Interesting. Of course i'm inclined to say "I don't see it," but of course I don't haha--I know my town status, you don't. So your suspicions are fair. Am curious what makes you think I could be Maf with either of them though? Dan I could see (though would be really be this openly chummy right now? Anything is possible but I don't think it's how I'd play it if I was mafia partners with Dan in this scenario) but Potent? Am curious what would make me fit in that situation?

Will also add, I think BKB's "this is obviously the way to go/are we just saying Potent is stupid here?/no mafia would do this" hyperbole strikes me as genuine. I've felt his town this whole time basically and I still feel that way. Which brings me back to the point of...with a Maf Potent, I see way more viable options of who makes sense as his #2 and 3 than I do with Dan
