OK, I'm trying to strip away all of the attitude when I respond to this. I haven't said anything close to "if you choose wrong here, it is the worst move of ever and we will never forgive you." I don't know your status - or BKB, KPO, Rummy. I just know that Jaz is town and Dan is mafia. There's a 50/50 chance of exiling someone else who is mafia, but yeah Dan is the move here. I was also trying to be persuasive with a soft edge.

Tell me that Potent's response doesn't line up closer with scenario two. Again, Potent may be right that I play differently than others, but if I was Inspector and Dan made that psycho post as an act, I'd probably say something to the effect of "Can't lie I appreciate the effort you are putting into this act you weirdo lmao" or something with that vibe to it. Or I'd match his hostility because he's lying and I'm telling the truth.
But if I was mafia and dan was town and Dan said that, id think to myself "Damn Dan its just a game I didn't mean to offend". Probably would DM him and the ref and clear the air. Or I would just back off a bit because he seems real life offended and we (Mafia) are in a good position to win anyway.

yeah, i agree with a lot of this logic, especially the bolded part. when Ref stepped in, my first thought was, "Dan is legit mad bc he's town & i know how frustrating it can be to have a fake reveal point to you"...and maybe we're wrong about that, but it was my first thought.
lemme just say that being in this game as vanilla town is a huge mindfuck. my gut with potent's reveal is that it felt off, but i also feel like his exasperation might be genuine here and that's why he just hasn't fought back much. with dan contrasting potent's apathy with a lot of passion for proving his innocence, idk...it has been hard to feel ok siding with potent.
if we are wrong here, im genuinely sorry potent, but you also gotta be able to see that for vanilla town here, this has been fucking hard to gauge
