We spent a solid amount of time at the beginning debating how to do 3 fake inspector reveals
Lol yep this is the Zany Plan we were hoping to execute: we tried to push Theo to exile position d1 to set the plan into motion, knowing that if (as did occur) he didn’t end up in that position, the plan wouldn’t come to fruition but the distancing would be gold later on. And it was.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I feel like inspector needs to be more strategic in their vote and not put themselves in positions to advance. vote later, throw away rnd 1 votes, give yourself flexibility > leaving crumbs, because there are enough people that say random stick to wall shit that sort of sticks to distract.
BUT I think the tranter/silver/jortles pump fake inspector thing is dumb because it's so transparent and it rouses suspicion
Im trying to figure out if Theo could have done anything to give off Inspector vibes to Mafia earrrly on. Weird that Rummy would randomly switch to him, then later Kanye would use a funny excuse surrounding a kanye video being posted to solidify Theos position in the runoff. This is the piece that makes me feel like Kanye is town... unless theres something Theo said that spooked maf... but even then that level of coordination seems like it isnt worth it so early on.

hey I mean the fact that I actually caught on to that series of events being noteworthy is something...

Been meaning to ask this for a couple of games now, if inspector was to be exiled, does the ref reveal that they're inspector or just say they're town? I thought there was some conversation about just saying they're town here but I could be misremembering

And what I'm asking is for people to point out shady behavior now so that future inspectors can avoid it.
all the same stuff we look for in mafia. I literally called out KPOs lols after jaz did. That is a tell of a role... seriously
Fair point, but also doesn't that just seem like KPOs personality in the game? It's more about how we keep getting inspectors into initial D1 runoffs. I havent done the math but it feels like it happens way more often than it should. Dan808 you got the probabilities to back me up?

It was also strange how coincidentally town managed to exile the person me and Kanye weren't on, we were both on Tranter at the end of D3 and him being revealed as town definitely would have hurt us on D4 but every other town alive decided to go for Jaz instead
I mean, tbh I'd like to not get into what I'd do as inspector aside from look and feel more random and aloof
I don't think it matters what you would do as inspector (thus, no need to discuss). What I think matters is that town continually randomly gets the inspector in the runoff. It seems to happen way more often than the probabilities say it should. It's a gut feel, so if I'm off someone should tell me (with data).
If you can tell who is inspector, as town, shouldn't you make it a point not to vote for that person? And if you think others can also tell, but they are voting for that person, wouldn't it make you want to vote for the person voting for your inspector read?

i think dan and I outed a different inspector by accident recently too.
This is the essential problem: our mafias have become so outlandish that it is far more valuable to try to identify someone that is playing as if this game means something different to them than a normal game. As opposed to looking for voting patterns (which mean absolutely nothing anymore).
While I believe this is a better way to find mafia, its also the absolute best way to find inspector.
Another variable is that our townies also dont give a fuck and are going apeshit the full time especially day 1. So its easy for mafia to narrow it down by just finding the person who isnt acting like a psychopath.
Finally, isnt the inspector always in your last 4 to vote list?

im literally sometimes voting for people on day 1 who i think “def arent inspector” as opposed to trying to find mafia. Which sucks but we just need to kill a binall and get out of that bitch these days

but if multiple people are going to make offhanded remarks about knowing or feeling stuff the line between inspector/inspector baiting blurs. honestly best thing is to stop the pretending to be inspector because it keeps random town for voting for a townie because they think maybe that's inspector. allows mafia to hide "baiting inspector" behind "baiting a whack"

I think KPO was. I'm pretty sure I was not and it was a conscious effort on my part. But I think they do tend to end up there.
