Yeah, Im sure they would rather do that than use concrete jungle stubhub center. The weather should be nice. Tough chance to have it end up like Pasadena Daydream heat wise.

Lorde feels like she's due for a HL spot: she's done the fest for every album release so far, clears the 3 album bar with this release and subbed Main on her last appearance to widespread acclaim. If it weren't for COVID I'd say she was on the HL shortlist but we're back in a bit of a "Beyonce" situation with all the HLs from 2020 and prospective/upcoming HLs being pushed. That's making me a bit speculative... I'm sitting on hope that they bring some gender parity to their all male HL group from 2020 and bring in a 2nd group of female HLs for a total of 6HLs to make up for missing two fest years. The bench is deep at this point: Lorde, Dua, Billie, Erykah Badu, St. Vincent, Lizzo, (plus that 2020 Gaga "secret set" that never happened). There's quite a few names on that list that are HL caliber but not "break the bank" expensive so fingers crossed Coachella surprises us.
Bringing it back to Lorde, she ultimately feels like a lock to me for '22 but how she fits into the old 2020 lineup is unclear if she's firmly in that "HL or bust" category.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
You could easily remove Flume or Calvin and slide in Dua as a sub headliner. I don’t think either of them has done anything to warrant staying on the lineup. I don’t see Lorde playing unless one of the headliners drop or Coachella decides to come back with a bang and surprise everyone with 4-6 headliner level acts.
I'm not really sure what the point of bringing Calvin Harris back would be - especially given his whole Love Regenerator project already had its rollout. That's maybe the most obvious drop in the first two lines for me.
I hadn't noticed this before, but they took the 2020 poster off of the "Past Festivals" page on the website; it'd been there since it was originally announced, no traces of it anywhere on the site now as far as I can tell.
