silent disco goes pretty late, there's also a chill out tent and maybe 1 or 2 other things late at night. they started a curfew a few years ago, so the campgrounds are pretty chill these days. there used to be a movie played at night but I don't think that's happened in years.
I miss super tall paul going until sunrise though.
The drive back monday is bad if you dont leave early in the morning. If you leave the area mid day youre gonna hit some bad traffic from Palm Springs to Beaumont at least and lose a good hour just because of that. But the thing is if you wanna go to vegas its still gonna mean you have to get through all that anyway. You could use the LAX to Coachella shutte and save yourself the stress of being the one that has to drive in the traffic.
We're staying in Banning so not too far from Beaumont. Hoping to leave around 8 am if that information helps.
Ok, youre going to stay in Banning for the festival? Thats not good at all. Realize that its going to be about 3 hours in a car each day not counting the time at the festival. You wont get back to your hotel til 3/4 am on fri and sat if you stay til the end on those nights. Then youll probably want to eat and thats more time then you have to sleep. For getting to la or vegas you should be fine, but for the festival this is not advised at all.
What type of late night campground activities does Coachella offer now? Were there any late night stages or hang out areas in the campground after the festival sets end?
Depending on what time your flight would be.. because lots if Inland Empire people commute to Orange and LA county for work Like if you board at 8am I'd say leave at 4:30 to be at the airport at 6:30. you'll miss the traffic
Coachella 2019 there was silent disco, they were showing the Guava Island film, there was also another dance area next to the silent disco area, and there were various activity tents still open, although I didn't really see what those were exactly

I stayed in Yucca Valley in 2017 and was fine although 62 is a windy road and requires some attention at 2:30 am. Banning is a little closer to the fest than Yucca Valley so I’ll be fine. Also my travel companion is more likely to stay awake for the ride than the one that was with me in 2017
tyler, the creator appears to have started his album rollout today... would love to see him again he puts on a great show
Welllll its another one of somebody that is going to have to headline or nothing. Considering he was 3rd on the Beyonce day in 2018, he has nowhere to go. 🤷🏻♂️
At least its promising for Flog Gnaw to come back.

I stayed in Banning one year when half my group canceled at the last-minute, and staying in a 4-person suite was no longer feasible. It wasn't fun, but it's not as bad as you make it sound. Got back before 2:30am on nights we stayed until the end. The bulk of the traffic back on Monday occurs between Palm Springs and i-60, so that will make the Monday easy at least. The only thing I would be careful of is the overnight wind on the 10, which can rattle your car.

one year we had to book it super early back to LAX monday morning to catch our flight, talking like we left Indio around 4 am, and I legit thought we were going to die in a sandstorm

Everyone seems to almost miss their flight out of LAX, but almost is the key word. You can make it, just allow for extra time and use the carpool lanes.

On first listen I can’t see this new Lorde single being the hit that launches her career to the next level. Curious to hear thoughts from this group since she’s been a topic of conversation these past few days.
this song is a total 180 and I don't feel it'll be super successful, but given the surging popularity of Olivia Rodrigo and Phoebe Bridgers, it might be successful. Or at least guarantee that she gets put in daily rotation on every adult contemporary radio station in 2050.
