Never mind, I was thinking this tour started right after coachella, not the beginning of weekend 2....

Yeah, I was thinking this was the days right after weekend 2, not during weekend 2.
Also, isn't the Greek goldenvoice?
Nope, The Greek is neutral after the shitshow that ensued when the Goldenvoice/Nederlander contract expired and LA couldnt pick which promoter to give the venue to. So the city just takes care of the venue now and anyone can put on a show there. So some are LN, some are GV and some are Nederlander. Easy way to tell who is putting on a show there is if its on TM or on AXS.
Gang of Youths with a big tune out today. They'd be high on my list of potential rock acts to get added to the lineup assuming some natural churn. Possible IDLES replacement line area (I have no clue if IDLES are playing or not, just an example).
EDIT: Actually think they'd have a shot at the end of line 3.
Frank, Rage, and Travis haven't suddenly become less relevant since the original lineup announcement so idk why they'd change it.
Considering almost everyone else will have moved on from their 2020 line ups because they chose to go forward with 2021, how does Coachella look with keeping it all the same from what will be 2 years. The expectation now is so much higher because they did not do 2021. You’re going to get a lot of “thats it?” reactions come January. This is also magnified due to the price increase. You’re not paying an extra $100 just for the hell of it.
I’ll only believe that we’re losing any of the original headliners if they release an album. Travis+Frank clearly had new albums synced up with Coachella 2020 that they’re still sitting on. The music industry is no longer in its darkest days of the pandemic so we’re running out of reasons why they’d continue to stall an album release if it’s ready to go.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

I don't know where I stand on this actually. On one hand, the 2020 artists ( and the headliners especially) are really strong, and for most of us music board nerds, I'd say having quality acts that put on quality performances is the most important part. But does this carry over to your average attendee? I know a few of my Coachella squad has expressed they would be a bit disappointed if the 2020 lineup stayed mostly intact despite liking the lineup when it was originally announced. There is definitely something to be said about the hype and excitement behind looking at a fresh lineup come January.
Does GV even care though? They seemingly burned through 2 weekends of tickets already so they don't necessarily have to jump through hoops to get people to attend this year.

they'll look pretty good considering no other festival announced yet has any of their headliners
I will say it again, even though this will not happen, if Coachella dropped their exact same lineup as 2020 and merely shifted around names on the poster who have blown up, people would be ecstatic.

Almost no one is gonna say "that's it" to a lineup with Frank Ocean and RATM on it
