So with Stagecoach dropping their lineup 4 months early, could we see an earlier Coachella lineup announcement? If a majority of artists from 2020 are returning, I don't see much of a need to wait until January. If Coachella's timeline were to follow Stagecoach, that would mean an October announcement.
Doubt it. They really dont have to sell tickets? The normal 3 month window is still fine in this situation cause what if they arent done with booking acts and you saw what went down with Kanye at the 11th hour.
If we're expecting the same headliners, they may already be confirmed. And with a majority of the lineup coming back, there isn't as much left to book like in a typical year.

If they sold as many presale tickets as we think they did and they still have names locked up to announce first, I don’t see what incentive they have change their announcement strategy.

Things always change and its not as if every negotiation is as fast as getting Ariana in 48hrs. The whole font size shit is what takes so long. And its not as if they dont need to have headliner backup ready to go. ( tame impala for timberlake )
If strong majority of the line up is the same, and all the headliners are solidified.. it's possible for an early drop. If there's been a decent amount of changes then I doubt the line up is "set in stone" yet

If the goal is to get back to normal, they'd do a june presale (check) and a first week of january lineup release. Agreed that I'm not sure the point in announcing any time soon.

Even Glastonbury doesnt have their headliners locked in and it was known that all 3 were offered their spot back for the following fest whenever that was. Since then there has been almost no indication ( except for McCartney having a tour date the week before ) that theyre close to retaining all 3 headliners. Coachella for now has Rage for based on their dates and thats it. Look at how Rage even got into the picture anyway, it was in September of 2019 and at that stage GV had been working on and signed MCR. We saw how that went just a few months later.

Yeah I feel the same way. Coachella’s been pretty set on the status quo for 2022, and not changing their usual routine for a Coachella at all. If wristbands sold as well as it seems they did this year, they have like no reason to announce anything prior to January.
I love the 2020 lineup, and although I’d definitely miss digging through the undercard for new music, I’d still be stoked for the actual festival. (especially if they give me one of Bicep or Fred Again..)
Curious who would replace Lana if she drops out of Coachella too. They’ll probably just bump Doja up there.
Thats too big of a jump regardless of all the hype for Doja. With Marina off the table to return maybe Doja is at the end of the first line at best. I think if Stagecoach has Kacey Musgraves as a headliner when the poster drops in the next couple days then that would be an option for a sub slot.

Why did Lana step away from her shows this year? I saw she delayed her album that was due last week, but didn’t know the reason why.
Also MARINA removed her LA date from her website so I wonder if she’s back in for next year now even with the SF date still in play. I assume Coachella is going to be a little more lax on the radius clause next year since artists are having so much trouble routing tours with the amount acts scheduled to tour.

She did???? Because her new album was amazing and it seems like it'll be really fun live

I assume both of these are because they’ll be at Coachella next year instead.

It's odd because the LA show isn't cancelled, it's still up on Ticketmaster.

Yeah, its still onsale so if its getting cancelled or postponed Then it needs to be announced already. Looks to be half sold out which isnt bad for 8 months out.

Honestly think it’s a glitch on her website because the venue didn’t have a name when it initially went on sale and it disappeared from her site as soon as the venue title changed

Just going to keep voicing my desire for HARD FEELINGS to also be on the lineup if Hot Chip is still going to be there. New single released today and debut album drops in November.
Sexual assault allegations couldn't even get Diplo removed from Stagecoach.
But lapdancing satan possibly gets you booted. And come on, half that line up has had abuse allegations, its the norm. I think theyre holding Lil Nas back so they arent tipping their hand on his plans. A friend of mine says he is off because he is “too pop”. I dont think he listens to country radio nowadays lol.

Harry Styles would be a headliner today if he were to play.

HITS Daily Double coming in with some bombs. Rage Against the Machine and Travis Scott expected to return, Frank Ocean out.
“Rage Against the Machine and Travis Scott, who were announced as headliners last year, are expected to be the main attractions on Friday and Saturday night, but it’s said that Frank Ocean will not be headlining on Sunday.”
