They announced a fall tour today and are playing at the Observatory here in San Diego, and while I'd really like to see them and would go to the Observatory show if it was the only option, I think I'd be more into watching them for 30 minutes at Coachella than making a whole night of it.

99% sure the Frank replacement will be pop. Whether that's Adele, Bruno, Rihanna, or Taylor. I think Taylor Swift is the most likely of the bunch, I'm not a fan but I'd like to see her booked tbh. Wild card here is Britney Spears if she's free of her conservatorship situation by then. That would actually be a massive get for the demographic.

If you were digging around for a 2000’s female solo act then go get Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Shakira, P!nk or Mary J Blige. And thats not even to headline, just to bolster the second line.

She didn’t. Prior to bodak she might have hosted a club or two. But no troll her job as a stripper plus being an IG personality primed her to be an entertainer. She got to be not good for a while because she could control a crowd until they fine tuned her show. I still think it’s crazy she’s never had a real tour though.

Don't think anyone would go into a Britney show expecting impressive vocals/they would anticipate lip sync. Would she be objectively "good"? Probably not. Would her crowd absolutely havd a blast anyways? Absolutely yes. Rihanna isn't a good live performer either but everyone still clamors for her.

Im talking about the live show/touring perspective. There's artists like Bon Iver who have struggled with anxiety / stage freight after blowing up / getting to a certain spot on festivals or playing certain venues. I cannot imagine what it would be for her and if she's ready for it. Billie toured twice here in Belgium before completely blowing up, once the played a 600-person venue and the show after was 1/1,5k I think. I personally think it'd be very unhealthy to just let her do massive shows from the get go.

I think her having a thrilling TV career will help her in that regard. She’s no stranger to the spotlight and I think is itching at the chance to perform live.

Yeah, I dont know why somebody would think that after a few tv performances that Olivia Rodrigo can take on 50,000 people just cause. Billie did 2 tours and a summer of festivals before the debut album was even released pre Coachella. Then Weekend 1 they had technical issues and the performance wasnt that great. So you can try to make sure everything is planned to perfection but its not a guarantee it all goes according to plan. Like Ive said, if this was a normal year for 2021, Olivia wouldve been in the middle of the poster and likely gotten a more prominent spot on the schedule due to Drivers License but thats it. Not like demands to be a subheadliner.
I think she’d be in nearly the same spot as Billie was in 2019; probably playing a prime spot on the Outdoor right before Travis or Rage.

Industry plant is a bullshit concept trotted out by old men to shit on women in music. She hasn’t played a show yet because of Covid. Everyone works with other songwriters and she’s not trying to cover up that fact.
The yodeling boy who was “discovered” in a Walmart was a plant. That shit was fake as hell. There’s nothing fake here.

It’s all bullshit. Unless there’s some sort of lie or deceit involved there’s nothing wrong with someone coming up through the industry. It happens all the time and we only gripe about it when it’s young women doing it.
