And be careful if you have to drive in a dust storm; you're almost certainly better off stopping and waiting for it to settle down. Had to replace my windshield because I got so many pits in it driving home Sunday night in 2013.
Danny Elfman for sure one of my favorite sets of the weekend so far. I had never heard his stuff and wow wow wow. It was exactly what I had been wanting this whole weekend.
currently seeing daddy SG Lewis in the doLab.
Oh and Rina Sawayama was THE party today. Glad she had an amazing turnout it seemed.
Mojave was amazing today. Japanese Breakfast, Girl in Red, Turnstile, and Caribou all delivered excellent sets. Topped off with Hot Chip in the Gobi made for an excellent day of music.

Billie's sound was decent. There were some dead spots along the first delay towers. It sounded better at the 3rd set than up closer which was weird. Still a ton of sound bleed from the screaming cause Billie would wave her mic and it caught all of it. Not as crazy as Megan and it did stretch pretty far but it wasnt wall to wall bodies like in the past.
Will merch be available online? I usually get a poster and a shirt but the merch lines this year…
Nope. Except for the youtube stuff which is up for 24 hours i guess. Only other shot at merch is the garage sale in camping each year. Best suggestion is go when gates open and hope its not too insane. I got semi lucky and it took 90 mins today getting into the line after yard act.
another amazing day. Watching L’imperatrice realize in real time how much the crowd was into their stuff was amazing, and they ripped it. Japanese Breakfast was awesome and mostly filled the Mojave, holy shit Rina was a party and an unreal performer, Turnstile was gorgeous at sunset with the perfect amount of people to give it a ton of energy but still feel intimate. Do not miss the black midi show; I won’t spoil it but it’s completely over the top and amazing. Danny Elfman set really hits, even the Big Mess stuff. Caribou continues to be one of the best live bands on the planet, and the show they have right now is just nuts. Floating Points is indeed playing a DJ set (which personally I was more excited about, he’s a killer DJ), and Koze was a perfect end to the night.
After cancelling my trip over from London due to money I've been watching sets. Haven't had fomo quite like the Elfman show. Thats one special fucking set.
really enjoyed that Flume set and do not regret missing Brockhampton for him. was so cool to see him bring out Vince for smoke and retribution. Megan was really meh but since my partner is so new to fests and shes their number 1 i stuck around. Stromae was excellent from far away, may end up getting a ticket for his Boston show. Also saw Rina Sawayama and Caroline Polachek, both very fun sets
Out of curiosity, did Koze play Pick Up right at the end?
Koze opened with Pick Up, which he played for like 12 minutes. Closed with the extended version of Operator
Hmmm, def not gonna be able to get to the end of his set next week. Was gonna watch last night but gf tweaked her ankle and her heel was bleeding so we peaced out after a few Billie songs. And next week ill be with people who will tend to want to leave early.

The last 2 days were so packed with performances for me I haven’t even really had a chance to look around the festival lol. Today is going to be my chill day

Sort of the same. No boutique, no yuma, no do lab, sahara or even the terrace.

That doesn’t seem off to me? A dozen + per stage basically and that’s not counting the role security plays in identifying folks who need help and getting them to medical

Anyone that saw Floating Points, was it more of a house/disco set, or more of his Crush style stuff? Will definitely be there if its Crush, but will probably see Hot Chip if not

its 4 on the floor dance music, but definitely more Crush influenced than disco influenced. He did a couple really cool blends at the end of both that took him a second to get into but really really worked. He played both of the new tracks and they went off

Bitchin, good to hear, I think I'll be seeing him then, as much as I love Hot Chip
