I usually hate the “misdirect tho?” angle especially after N1 but D1 was so bizarre and not standard...I think Theo might be onto something that Maf just wanted to whack someone who led to...literally nowhere/no one.

I think it's weird that people were voting for BKB seeing as how he didn't show up, and when it was pretty clear he was going to miss a second vote the locks were weird to me. I'm looking back to see who was in that, that might be an interesting group to look at - surely a mafia was piling on.

Because why even waste our time like that. I was ready to move on

Those who locked on BKB D1: Dan, Silver, KPO, Jortles, Tranter.
Jortles obviously is town, so look at Dan/Silver/KPO/Tranter.
I will say that the lock on BKB felt on brand for Tranter, a guy who likes to lock, so when shuffling through those four players, Tranter is lowest on my sus list.

I get it, but it was going to resolve itself anyway, so voting for the guy who it looks like doesn't check the board like a psycho (and has a life) is an easy cover for a mafia person.

I was very absent from the board while this was going on bc moving mayhem, but I did find it sorta weird how quickly people jumped on the locking, when it wasn’t going to take much time to wait for an auto exile.
Looking at your list above + those who didn’t have any votes d1,
Rum>Silv
Kpo also hits the mark on both categories there but the man did promise he’s vanilla town this time, so

it's certainly possible mafia tried to hide a vote on thor, but I'm not going to dive super into it because it was an odd round. but there's enough crossover with the no votes group that it's worth the look

The dude went 24 hours without checking or anything so I voted for him. It isn't some mafia driven pile on when the dude was clearly holding the game back by not participating
Yes, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a mafia there
The odds say Jimmy was town. It benefits mafia to get rid of him, by any means possible, as quickly as possible.
If he was mafia, it benefits mafia to cut bait as quickly as possible.
I can't shake the feeling that the piling on included at least one mafia (beyond what the odds would say).
You’re right odds say there’s probs one mafia in the group. My point was mainly that I don’t think it’s any more significant than picking 4 random players and saying there’s likely a maf. I get the argument you’re making but at least in my case, I was trying to get the game moving.
I don't think there's a whole lot to glean from last round at all. I know I called out the unnecessariness of voting and locking on BKB last round, but at the same time our current group of regular players does tend to want quicker games, so it's not incredibly out of the ordinary. Impatient bastards, you lot. I think looking at those voters is an okay place to start for this Day, but more because it's only slightly better than completely arbitrary. It's not a strategy worth getting stuck on imo.
Right now this just feels like Day 1 redux as far as info goes, so I'm just going to carry my vote for Danbob over. Doesn't hurt that Jortles voted for him too.

I really really doubt Dan would whack someone who made two posts, one of which was a vote for him.

Right - but there are four of you making that argument (essentially). It's easy for someone to hide in that group and use it as an excuse, while serving the goals of exiling townies (and I'd argue it helps them to do it as quickly, with as little data, as possible).

Voting off BKB was a perfectly logical thing to do and if anything, complaining that we exiled a guy who didn’t check in is pretty sus. I get if you’re like “eh I wouldn’t do it” but making all these posts is weird.

Also we’ve basically lost a day and a ton of voting data so I think we need to rethink this gameplan. We’re essentially at Day zero with one, likely two townies gone
