September is a great month for festivals but I’d hate to be a booker this late in the game. Kinda surprised they pulled out Caroline P, honestly. Shannon & The Clams make sense to me that high up given the circumstances. It’s rushed but I feel like they could have had at least 1 female headliner.

Not a great look that the highest billed woman is a big TERF, and the biggest locally billed woman carries a sizable Trumpy fanbase though.

I’m assuming local is Sarah in which case does she speak on politics or goes the “my music is for everyone” route. Legit worried as I have a ton of friends that listen to her.
I was just looking at the email they sent me and realized it was a press release. While I feel like it’s a lot of copy + paste, they do say 3 shows at City Plaza/ 2 at RHA. I’m guessing it’s 2 at Moore Square.
Also: Single Days next month when the schedule drops.
Really wish this wasn't the week after Roo as I would otherwise definitely be making the drive up from Charlotte. I feel like at least one of these artists end up as a replacement act for Roo.

wait what? since when was Caroline Polachek a terf?
I was on the festival’s full-time staff at the time, and I assure you the public-facing message was much different than what actually transpired. Her management was fully aware, though they didn’t communicate that to her. I think they were as surprised at her response as we were.
Ironically, when she canceled, SOPHIE was made to drop as well since they were booked through the same agent and CP had more clout within that roster. Also, the position that we were categorizing non-biologically male artists as a “genre” was just stupid on its face. Representation was and has been a huge issue since and this was intended to show you actually can have an awesome event without relying on male artists.
somehow i dont think the person that's tight with arca is a TERF . the fuck you on about.
This is like saying Donald Trump isn’t racist because he’s friends with Kanye. Arca is one of the most well-financed and connected artists in experimental art.

I would argue terf is much more a focused term than racist.especiaoly when it comes to social structures that go into racism. When she collaborates with pc music and so many trans artists that accusation just doesn't seem realistic.exclusionary being the specific word. Trump isn't actually friend with Kanye this and definitely isn't hanging out at the crib and making music. I'm sure she has her flaws but TERF just seems inaccurate

I’m not crazy nervous yet but can see myself that way soon. If it wasn’t outdoors, I would have skipped it entirely.
I’m guessing Dr. Dog is a City Plaza headliner. Still really hoping for a AoL > Dr. Dog with like Wednesday opening. That would be a great way to kick things off for me.
I thought the Moore Square stage was going to be the main one. This is why we need a schedule lol
It will be, I’m assuming. I’m also wondering if that’s only gonna be open Friday and Saturday (like Red Hat). I wouldn’t think Dr Dog as a HL at any other place that City Plaza but I never know what they’re doing.
They opened applications for vendors thru next Friday so I’m thinking it’s the week after we’ll get a schedule, but hopefully I’m wrong.

Didn't think about Moore Square only being open for two days but that'd be interesting. I guess on the poster Dr. Dog is listed at #3 but on the website they are the first one listed, and the website seems to be in a different order in general.
Only day party I have found so far looks interesting featuring Big Pooh from Little Brother

Kings has only 1 show listed and that’s in October. I’m betting that Lincoln Day Party is outdoors, too. I was thinking the festival shows started later, like in previous years, but now I’m having doubts.
Yeah there are a couple night shows scheduled at Lincoln as well. Without knowing how long Hopscotch is going though, it seems kinda pointless to buy anything ticketed. If the festival is going until 10 or 10:30, it's probably not going to be worth it.
pretty upset about Caro being on a night by herself (really thought Dr Dog would headline Thursday and she'd be alongside FlyLo or AnCo) and that it's thursday blehhhh. a one day pass just to see her for $100 is hard to stomach
