She did three songs. It's equivalent to doing Jimmy Kimmel or something.
Wait did she actually just do 3 songs for it?
Yeah I agree this needs a poll
The set length doesn’t matter based on the rules. What’s in question is if “The New Yorker Festival” is a festival which it is. She’s eligible based on technicality.
- the act must be alive ✅, performed at two festivals since 2014 or be booked for two upcoming festivals ✅, and not be officially broken up or retired ✅

just because The New Yorker calls an online streaming event a festival, doesn’t mean it’s a festival.

It‘s been in-person since 1999 and only did virtual in 2020 for the pandemic.

I would be willing to bend the rules a little if she was announced to play the festival in person and then it got moved online but there’s no way of knowing that.

The rules don’t say “in-person festival”. It’s the same as OutKast being eligible because of the word “officially” broken-up

Not really. The word “festival” is left up to interpretation whereas “officially broken up” seemed pretty clear.

I remember the good ol days. where we debated the definition of “potentially active” and “realism”. now we are debating whether a festival, officially named and marketed as, a festival, is indeed a festival. never change inforoo.
It’s a shame to see people trying to stretch the rules of this humble game for their own personal benefit. Truly sickening.
I'd be less mad if Bing wasn't treating me like a naïve two-year-old.
Fiona Apple has been performing longer than I've been alive. The rules stretch back to 2014 and he's trying to tell me the last two years are the only ones that matter. All the while, his teammate that no, all of those seven years matter!
If y'all are gonna try to pull the wool over my eyes at least make it make sense lol

I don't remember the exact context, but didn't we let someone pick Tony Hawk's son's hyperpop project since they'd performed at a virtual festival in Minecraft or something like that? Obviously the stakes are a bit higher here, but seems like there may be at least some draft precedent

IIRC for Gupi & Fraxiom we found videos of one irl show, pictures of a second, and used a bunch of minecraft shows just to say "hey they're real just let them play".
Honestly, my "lmaoooo" when team Fiona pointed out that other "fest" was more me thinking it was hilarious that they were able to uncover what I was not, and I'll probably vote pro-Fiona when the poll comes around. Fuck it, live a little.
Due to a booking issue. St. Vincent is no longer able to play Firefly Festival. We are happy to announce however that Maggie Rogers will be taking her spot as our final Backyard Stage Closer!
George Strait - Bruno Mars ft. Silk Sonic - The Black Keys Lana Del Rey - Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals - Porter Robinson - Duran Duran Maggie Rogers - Brockhampton - Sturgill Simpson - the person I'm picking next round

I don’t remember this but I remember cdev saying that since a handful of acts got big in 2020 and couldn’t tour that he would count them
