I mean I think I have said this before, but every year after the bull run I get a nutella, banana, bacon crepe to replenish myself. Delicious. What I don't ever do is make crepes or eat them any other time. So many better breakfast options, including eggs benedict.
RIP Donuts. Some call you unhealthy for you, but for us, that was just our relationship. We obsessed over each other night and day, wondering when the other would call next, longing for each other in the absence. In the end, we know we aren't good for each other - I destroy you, you destroy my waistline. I cherish all of the memories we had, like that one time in the Village - you know the one, at 7th and 14th. I know others weren't a fan of our relationship, and we weren't good for each other, but boy we had some times. XOXO.
When it came to my love affair with donuts, I was truly the one minute man - finished in a heartbeat.
Why do we all have to qualify our donut obituaries with the fact that they have sugar in them? Donuts are just great, period. No one was like “RIP cereal, you get soggy so fast but you also often contain 24 essential vitamins and minerals as part of a balanced breakfast “
I'm just trying to justify my own hypocrisy because I voted hard for muffins to go out because of their lack of nutritional value. Donuts I will make an exception for... because they are so amazing.

I just read an article explaining that the franchise owner who invented the Egg McMuffin in 1971 intended to "mimic the not-so-simple delight of eggs Benedict in basic sandwich form."
Not sure if that helps or hurts the cause, but kind of a fun fact.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Anyone on crepes willing to admit their wrongful assumptions that crepes are always sweet, and thus move off them? If you don't like sweet brekkies, then pancakes should just go...
I enjoy how you're dropping straw man arguments here about them not being familiar with the food to save crepes when we watched grits get voted out despite multiple people displaying a lack of basic knowledge and/or horrible ass opinions.
P.S. crazykittensmile, do you remember long ago when I said something about adding water to the ground beef when making tacos because that is what the spice packet said to do, and you and bacon almost died? That's how I felt when you referred to grits as soupy. That popped into my head this morning, and I had to share.

I'll say it again... who are all you people voting for Eggs Benedict?! If I wasn't so weird about hollandaise sauce, it might be a damn near perfect breakfast food.

I am. I'm not a fan of hollandaise sauce or smoked salmon.
Also, they've been the runner up for six rounds now. They're well past time to go.

I have had sweet and savory crepes. They're just not as good as the rest of the items. If it makes you feel better thinking that most people here aren't cultured enough to have had more than one type of crepes, you do you.

Wiki tells me it's technically called Eggs Atlantic.

That's one of the joys of eggs Benedict: Your meat component can be any number of delicious things. As I've mentioned previously in this Survivor, the best eggs Benedict I've ever had used fried chicken, and came on a biscuit. It was dank AF.
