It's pretty common for breakfast and brunch spots to have a section on the menu just for bennies, and I'm considering "eggs benedict" to be a category as flexible as breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, and I guess shit ass whack ass crepes.
how is it a straw man argument? clearly a lot of the people here don't realize crepes can be savory
I have had sweet and savory crepes. They're just not as good as the rest of the items. If it makes you feel better thinking that most people here aren't cultured enough to have had more than one type of crepes, you do you.
at what point did i call them less cultured? talk about pulllllllling at straws, davie
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
definitely not traditional but a smoked salmon benedict sounds amazing anyway. last beni I had was a fire lobster benedict in Miami. such a versatile breakfast meal.
That's one of the joys of eggs Benedict: Your meat component can be any number of delicious things. As I've mentioned previously in this Survivor, the best eggs Benedict I've ever had used fried chicken, and came on a biscuit. It was dank AF.

Yeah I had a dungeness crab benedict in Seattle last week and just about nutted. I'll eat with smoked salmon, canadian bacon, lobster, and in the south I see them with fried chicken a lot. I've had them with fried green tomatoes. They have a hell of a lot going for them. And hollandaise sauce is fuckin gas

I'll also stick my neck out for crepes. In the keys there are multiple restaurants specifically for crepes ("Creperies") and they are always packed. Also, my mom and grandmother make what they call "German pancakes" and its essentially just a thin crepe with melted butter, sugar, and lemon rolled up. Might not sound like anything crazy, but that shit is next level fire
You can deflect all you want, but you literally just implied smoked salmon was a core component. Your turn to be wrong.
I've had them with smoked salmon several times. Don't know what to tell you.
Wikipedia tells me that is a variation called Eggs Atlantic. If I thought Eggs Benedict had salmon on it, I’d have been voting for it from round one. I am voting Eggs Benedict now because I don’t love hollandaise sauce, but I love every other component of a Benedict (absolutely including Canadian bacon because it’s delicious) so this is the first I’m voting for it.

Anyone who would rather eat boring ass scrambled eggs over an eggs benedict is crazy and probably just hasn't had a good eggs benedict. Scrambled eggs are the oatmeal of the egg world and that is why they have my vote

You might have to change that vote to crepes to save egg benedicts, unfortunately.
I just read an article explaining that the franchise owner who invented the Egg McMuffin in 1971 intended to "mimic the not-so-simple delight of eggs Benedict in basic sandwich form."
Not sure if that helps or hurts the cause, but kind of a fun fact.

chicken & waffles beni is also fire
Chicken and waffles is fire on its own without eggs. I'm sure eggs are a bonus for some.

That's wild, I always equated German Pakcakes with "Dutch Babies" which are poofy and thick as hell

That is funny. No, these are thin crepes like this. My grandma makes life up as she goes though, and I've never heard of German pancakes from anywhere else!
