I’m guessing there is a reasonable chance Peekaboo will get a slot on The Other. I’ve liked him since he’s been on the scene because I appreciate the darkness. Anyone who read the 2020 artist a day which I got asked to do would recall that he was in school at Western Michigan studying sound engineering for horror movies. He used to bring a lot of those sounds and elements into his music. It’s all over Arrival and then his 2018 Maniac EP - particularly Maniac and Work of the Devil. I saw him a couple times in 18 and 19, and I dug the shows. But then I watched his set a few weeks ago I think at Ultra and was underwhelmed. I got told today that I have a ticket to see him tomorrow night here in New Orleans. I wasn’t otherwise planning on going. DJ’s and Producers sometimes go harder at Republic because of that scene. I haven’t been there since early March 2020 due to the virus, I’m hoping it will be a better show and by default if he plays Bonnaroo due to the demographics vs Ultra. Because if it’s a good show, that’s what I’m going to want for the couple wook and bass sets I’ll get to see. TBC
esteban just outta curiosity, did you happen to see Caspa at Republic about 3-4 years ago?
I can’t remember if I saw him there or if it was maybe at Euphoria Fest in Texas. But I did catch him 3-4 years ago. Hadn’t seen him around much and I kind of forgot about him, but I would see him again. Tonight’s card also has Buku who I don’t remember ever seeing and Subdocta who has pretty odd time signature shit. Hopefully it will be a hard and headbanging show.

I like to think I opened for Caspa that night, but realistically what happened was I DJd a frat formal in the evening, then there was a Caspa show late night. He sound checked before my show started, I got to chat with him for a couple minutes, really down to earth guy. Plus it was pretty cool of the Republic staff to hook me up with a VIP band for his show.
Lol. Top 3 album of all time probably but with Squire dead, Andersen doing his own thing and Bruford retired, it would be a cover attempt at best. I’ve seen them with the dude from Nashville (Glass Hammer I think is his other band), and it didn’t cut it despite his good voice. Need some rap in the undercard that I want to see. Harder the better though I’d be happy with some underground.
