Seriously. The tooth fairy has already forgotten to come twice. I can't imagine that creepy elf remembering to move every night.
Once the tooth fairy had too many children to see, once she left it under mom's pillow by mistake. The struggle is real. "Man this elf is lazy as a sack of potatoes". I would never remember to move that elf.

We don’t have one. They asked about it a few years ago and I told them we we used to have one but I forgot to feed it and mom won’t let me have another.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I hate that when it's tooth fairy time I gotta hit an ATM then break a twenty somewhere. I started a trend of making origami things from dollar bills for the tooth fairy. So I can't just scrape some coins out of a piggy bank. And some of that shiz is hard.

We use dollar coins. Just have to make sure to always have some on hand.

Has the tooth fairy ever robbed the children's piggy bank to pay the children? I'm sure that has never happened at anyone's home, right? ahh-hem.

When I was a kid I got Susan b. Anthony coins from the tooth fairy. But one time it was just a handful of quarters. Parents weren't ready.

My oldest lost a tooth at bedtime in Disney World a few years ago, and the smallest bill I had was a $5. The next morning, she couldn’t believe her good fortune. I assured her that she shouldn’t get used to it and that everything is just more expensive in Disney World - even for the Tooth Fairy.
Mother in law sent us an Elf on the Shelf and we immediately returned it.
There’s always a new way to get consumers to consume. I remember as a kid other kids getting stuff from “St. Nick” who is apparently different than Santa. My parents just straight up said, “Nah, that guy ain’t coming. Y’all got Santa.” I don’t do everything the way my parents did (we learn a bit hopefully, right?) but I’ll stick with Santa being the only magical being watching you to make sure you’re good.
Christmas is about spending time with loved ones. For me at least. But I’m just a big cheese ball. Interesting to see the different parenting approaches of inforoo haha.

Does anyone have a school system that goes year round? Apparently they’re proposing it tonight at a Board meeting and a majority of them are in favor.
The calendar that they’re proposing has a decent amount of days off but the kids would only get a month (mid-June to mid-July) as a summer break. Plus like 3 weeks at Christmas/New Years.
Curious if anyone else has it and what they think.
That was my first reaction but it’s the same amount of days throughout the calendar year. It just forces you to decide on Summer or Winter vacation.
At this point, I’ve moved on to poor teachers. I can see a mass exodus before the end of the year, if passed. The problem is we’re not the first school system. The three surrounding counties all have year round. If people quit it’s gonna be a move or a hell of a commute.

Just talked to my wife about it. (She's a teacher.) She's generally in favor if it. Seems to be better for kids. More consistent access to education, socialization, and food.
Kinda screws over teachers if it's being used to address overcrowding, though. They'll end up teaching more but the kids will get the same amount of education.

There’s been a big push around here for those reasons you listed. A lot of kids fell behind due to the schools being online. I totally get it, I do. It’s just change and I’m horrible with change.
Thankful that my kids are young. If they were sophomores in high school, I’d probably be fuming.
My teens are a pain in the butt. The young-ins are good and make me miss the days when my older set was little. As a single parent I feel like I never have enough time for everyone and my own stuff. Soon enough the teens will be grown and I'll still worry but I don't know what to expect when they are finally "adults", only time will tell..
It’s funny to read this, because my boys are still young (5 and 9) and they are a total fucking handful. Sometimes I used to say to myself, I can’t wait until they get older and less annoying. I guess I’m dreaming 😂. But recently the wife and I found out that we will be unable to have anymore children, and it’s kind of a crazy thought that I will never have a toddler or baby in the house ever again. Now I find myself trying to cherish every moment I have with them while their young. It’s sad that we probably won’t have any more kids, but I am also kind of happy that we learned it while my kids are still young so I can make sure not to take this time for granted. Hug and kiss your little ones as much as possible cause who knows when they’ll be too grown to want them.

My boys are in year round school and I LOVE IT! Sounds like they have the same schedule your school is proposing: 3 weeks off in September, 3 weeks in December/January, 3 weeks in March/April, 6 weeks in June and July. The short summer break kind of sucks a little, but I feel like that Fall break is a treasure. We always take our family vacations during this time because prices are generally really good since everyone else is back in school.

You have two boys, you will have kids/babies running around the house again. Just give it some time.
My kids are 4 and 9, the only ones we're gonna have. Frankly I'm glad I'll never have (my own) little babies running around the house anymore. My kids are a total handful and sometimes really annoying (each for their own reasons) but I'll take it over diapers and high chairs and baby stuff everywhere. It's a good day when all your kids can wipe their own ass.
