You've heard me talk enough to know nobody needs to hear that.
Shout out to LD for repping the Clemson dilemma for college football and the appreciation for esteban's rabid fandom. Sometimes, I just want to pick a random NFL team and go nuts promoting them all season.
potentpotables it's called cross-stitch, it's a great thing to do with your hands while you half watch mediocre TV, and you can get a starter set from Michaels for $5. I learned how to do it in under an hour with this guy's videos
It's odd hearing myself talk. I have had a few people before tell me I have a good voice for radio or voiceovers. After listening to my own episode, I think I sound like a poor man's Mike Watts. Maybe. If the shipping gig doesn't work out, maybe I should try out broadcasting.

I was wondering if people are listening to their own episodes. I hate the sound of my voice, so I don't even like to talk on the phone and I never get on camera.
Yeah I didn’t listen back to mine for the same reason
You sound like so many guys I've heard around here. Like, you don't really sound very southern, but you sound like you're from here, if that makes any sense.

Sweet, I'll take it. I want a little bit of an accent because that's a part of me but definitely don't want it to be super thick. Don't need it pointed out everywhere I go lol

I can agree with sang_xcx. There's no mistaking that you're from the South, but the accent isn't overpowering. Mine varies depending on the day and the people I'm around and how much I've been drinking. I spent a lot of time when I was younger actively trying to mute mine bc I had too many interactions where people directly equated sounding Southern to being stupid which I hated. Over the years, I've let it go bc fuck em.

People always say I don't sound like I'm from here. I never really tried. I think it probably comes from all of the music that I listened to. At least that's what I'm going to credit for it.

I'm originally from a town right outside Knoxville called Oak Ridge. Until the early 40s, it was a farming community then the government built a town from scratch pretty much to support atomic research at a nearby lab. Due to this, people came from all over to make this happen. Four of six of my grandparents weren't from the area. One was from North Carolina, two from Mississippi, and one from a little town called Wall which is right outside Pittsburgh that probably only potentpotables knows. With the diverse background of the city, most people from there have a slighter accent than people even the next town over. All that to say, my accent is probably right in line with where I'm from.

Agreed that it changes depending on who I’m around. When I’m around my family, especially some extended family who live in smaller towns then my accent goes straight to hick town lol.
I used to want to eliminate my accent all together because I didn’t like how people portrayed it in other parts of the country and whatnot. Also just general dislike of the south (and deeper things.) But now I think of it as a character trait and wouldn’t change it if I had the chance.

I actually had a fun time during your episode bc you have that style of southern accent where it's a game of "Is he baked or just southern?". I appreciate that you answered the question during the episode by saying you don't smoke.
