I’m happy to see/hear anything off of Undertow! I was able to get on the floor dead center, 2nd row of second section. It’s a total different experience than the first night in the box seats.
Seriously thinking about making Roo happen, it’ll be awesome to see them on the farm.
I had no idea about the Tool poster insanity. The dude who gave me the ticket asked me to try and get him one, I get here like 20 minutes after doors open and they’re gone. Except the signed ones which are hundreds of dollars. So I think maybe I’ll get one on eBay for under $100. Nope, already priced at $800 for an unsigned poster?!?! Wtf?
Welp, I guess that's out the window for tomorrow's show. I was planning on leaving the office early to get down there and grab one, but I'm not waiting 2 hours before doors open to get some design that might not even be worth hanging on a wall. I'd rather pre-game. Like Supre pointed out, lately the designs are looking kinda lazy.

fuck it, bought tickets for the new orleans show. it's an incredibly busy work time but it's tool and the wife is down. excited.
because i'm buying tickets so late we ended up hard stage right sec 114, but in the 100s so at least we are close-ish. we won't have the best view of the screen, but maybe we'll have a good view of the band.
this will be my fifth Tool show.
and fwiw i've never heard Sober live and would love to.
I was going to say I think it is almost 9pm whenever they do play. On that note, you should hit me up after the show. Chewbaccus should be ending right around then.

You must really love this parade to skip Tool for it.

But the thing is this, the poster design is normally out there sometime on show day so you can judge if its cool or not. The issue is these people will just buy whats there cause theyre batshit crazy and completists. I mean I dont know why they just dont make a generic tour one and sell that for $40 a pop thats made on nice paper. Tons of people would buy it and the vultures wont circle to get that every night. the consolation is they make those shirts that are date specific so you can at least have that souvenir, but still.

This is the second time in history I have missed them, both times it was the night of this parade. Last time was 2020 and I was supposed to see them at Roo for "my makeup" show. We pay so much money and do so much shit to march.

not that anyone in this thread needs to hear praise about "the grudge" but everytime i listen to the song i'm struck by how it manages to just get better and better the further into the song you get. like every minute is more exciting than the minute that came before it, right up until danny's drum fills at the end which are the best part of the whole frackin' song.

After seeing Tool for the first time at GovBall 2017, I wanted to relive the moment, so I found the full set on YouTube. They opened with “The Grudge,” and in the video, you can hear some dude during one of the drops at the beginning go, “FUCK YEAH. Fuck yeah.”
Any time I am sad, I can always go back to that part of that video, and it makes me feel better, because I wa totally on that same wavelength at the time.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Yes. Yes. This was my second Tool show, and I was near the front for the first part of the show. My neck was sore for at least a fortnight.

I was lucky enough to catch them twice on the Lateralus tour and it was awesome when they did that song because MJK could still do the high octave part of the vocals.

Have we done Tool album power rankings? My preference (best to worst) is Aenema, Lateralus, Fear Inoculum, 10,000 Days, Undertow
whether i think Aenima or Lateralus is the best depends on the last time I listened to either record.
but being honest with myself ultimately I think I'm an Aenima guy. might just be because that was the Tool record that hit me at the most impressionable age, but song for song i think i prefer it to Lateralus.
was wondering if it was controversial to put Fear Inoculum in front of 10,000 Days, i think i agree with you. great record.

I'll play. I'd go...
1. 10,000 Days 2. AEnema 3. Lateralus 4. Fear Inoculum 5. Undertow
Damn, now I'm going to spend the rest of the day listening to Tool.
I respect everyone's opinion and taste but this is definitely the first I've heard of someone saying 10,000 Days if their favorite. Honestly, all these albums are great but that one, at least to me, is a little too meandering (and, like, I could stand to never hear "Rosetta Stoned" ever again).

I've been planning on getting tickets for like 2 months. But I have to drive to Pensacola to get, you guessed it, tax documents out of my mailbox there. :/ Maybe having to miss it will make the Bonnaroo show more exciting.
It's a Friday too which is always a great night to see Tool. I was supposed to head to FLA this weekend but one of my W-9's or 1099-DIV's or whatever never arrives until after January 31st. It's one of those stupid forms for the few bucks I make that jacks the price of the tax preparation up by more than I actually received in income. Dickheads.

Yeah, Aenema to me is my favorite since that's the first one I bought/connected with. Plus, as a 13-year-old, it was obviously exciting holding the photo of the contortionist up to the lenticular jewel case (if you had this CD, you know what I'm talking about).

What can I say? I like a meander. Also, my favorite Tool song is on it, which means I may be giving it more of a boost than it deserves on those merits.

why is getting the tax doc so important? 1040s aren't due for months.
and not sure if it changes your calculation but the show is on saturday.

Little boy blue, he needed the money. Saturday is probably worse since I wasn't going to come back until Monday. IDK. I'll figure something out.
