Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I don't know if there was ever a Which sunrise set before PL. I'm sure Phil Lesh was going for it in 08 before he was told to end early for Kanye.
Are there still regularly jam acts that go to sunrise in the tents? I'm a bit surprised Pigeons didn't try for it. I recall Biscuits, moe., and STS9 sunrise sets in the years I went.
my understanding is that union contracts have made it so that unless it’s on the schedule it’s not happening
Which is a good thing tbh. Imagine working your job running a festival stage and the band is supposed to be done at 3am do you can go home but just keeps playing and playing
If its completely spontaneous I could see it being problematic, but there are a few acts a year where they could have stagehands on standby I feel like. Like pigeons playing until 3:30am has a higher chance of wanting to go till sunrise than late night Denzel Curry. Plenty of jobs have employees on standby and I think they could limit it to a 3-4 shows per Bonnaroo where there's even a chance

been thinking about the electronic music. i hate that the year bonnaroo chooses to book some decent house artists they only sold 12,000 tickets. i hope they don't revert 100% back to bass music, but tipper and tipper fam artists would be welcome.

Depending on the undercard I could be sold on this.

ngl if they book phish i'd probably go even if the undercard is trash. phish and roo are like my two things so.

I think we are definitely going to get Odesza-ed. I remember someone (Festive Owl maybe?) saying they would be headlining big festivals next year, dunno what that dude actually knows but it's a sobering thought none the less.
Do we think Phish would come back that soon? I honestly wouldn’t mind if they played every year. I love the vibe and atmosphere when they’re on The Farm. But I’m really dying for Oysterhead.

I don't believe anything that Festival Owl predicts.

That's fair, he definitely comes off as just a super dedicated music festival fan with probably no actual information ahha

2009, 2012, 2019. so three year minimum. 2023 would be four years but only 1 roo in between appearances, pandemic made everything weird.

Agreed honestly, they really blew me away! The crowd at Phish in particular was so unique to any other crowd I've been in at Roo. It's kinda funny that some of my favorite shows I've seen were from Phish, Dead & Co, Umphrey's, TOOL- artists I probably never would have given the time of day before I started attending this festival. I'd love to see a few more of those types of bookings going forward because they always end up being a killer time.

not saying it's likely but it's not impossible.
i'm also dying for oysterhead at roo.
Yeah, I keep thinking in terms of 2019 being the last year they played. And 2020/2020 as a wash. It really does jack up my thought process as far as booking. But who cares? I’m just glad we’re back.

Hahaha!!!! This is sooo true. Most of my favorite shows/moments at Roo come from bands I normally wouldn’t listen to. This year it was Andy Frasco. His set was a freaking party. Dude blew me away. What a showman!
