yeah, i ignored that point in my post. there is certainly an argument that artists with a platform have a responsibility to communicate what they think is right.
it swings both ways though. i can't say i wouldn't get a little upset if right before "Moondance" Van Morrison said the vaccine will make your genitals pop off and fly around the room.
Thank you for bringing some honesty to this discussion, its very easy to say "you" don't mind politics being brought to live performances but lets be real that's because 99.9999% of people in music are liberal...if tomorrow it flipped there would be a whole lot of upset people who weren't yesterday.
If 99.9999% of music was right wing I probably wouldn't be much of a music fan. That doesn't mean I don't listen to anyone with opposing politics...but the best artists are usually thoughtful, introspective and empathetic (regardless of medium) IMO.

Putting aside how ridiculous it is to dislike an artist because of taking political stances, the irony is that The Chicks aren't even that political. They made one comment like 20 years ago about George W Bush. That was it. Weird the things that people clench onto.
45 minutes in, we're still at Tier 2, which was what it was when they went onsale. Is that normal.
idk but they tweeted that they “Expect tickets to sell out fast” lol
I stuck between believing this year will sell out after 3 years without Roo and believing this will be one of the lowest attended due to lineup, covid, people being upset about last year
Eddie Vedder is a good example of someone who has always been political but has taken more of a directed activist role. There used to be a lot of candidate indifferent "get out the vote" preaching and 3rd party candidate activism - but in today's climate that doesn't really mean as much
i mean he definitely had some shit to say about trump at their 2016 Roo set
Oh for sure - that was my point. Eddie used to have more general "rock the vote" rants with the occasional "go Nader!" sound bites- but now it's pretty straight forward activism. Not really opining either way- just an observation.
Two for me and the wife and we've got three others in the bus with us this year.
We have 4, including myself this year. My bff and gf both will be there 3rd Roo and my gf sister who’s my age and it’ll be here first camping fest. She did shaky this past year and really enjoyed her self.
