Also all I wanted was a Tool poster. I went in on Thursday and checked and they didn’t have any when I did check. The people there said to keep checking back because they didn’t know when they were gonna be released. I checked back and still none and someone else told me they are released on Saturday when Tool plays (which I’ve heard they do at other fests they play so people who have day passes get a chance) but apparently they were released sometime on Thursday and I didn’t check back until Saturday and they said they were all sold out. Then stated they were releasing the signed ones that day but no clue when. So I waited in line for awhile and then wanted to still see sets. So I left and when I came back I saw that the line was gone. I checked back at least like 5 times. And I guess when I left they handed out wristbands to everyone waiting so they could still go to other sets but come back and for sure get a poster. I asked numerous times for a wristband and they said I had to be waiting there when they gave them out and I wasn’t since I did leave. But said they might have extras because they didn’t give out as many wristbands as posters. I really wanted a signed one and was willing to pay as much as it costs. But I guess they sold out of them. I keep looking online and I see some of the regular prints that aren’t signed for $350-$800 but does anyone know how much the non signed ones were at the fest? I thought I heard someone say that the signed one was $350 there so I assume the regular one was less then that there and everyone is just selling them for way more like usual.
And yes sorry I know I’m just bitching, I’m just butthurt because I really wanted a poster of my favorite band at my favorite venue that just so happened to be by my favorite artist for that print.
I’ll post my full review later but I just have to ask. Does anyone know what was up with the dude screaming “stop the violence” in the tool pit during the quiet part and then screamed other shit and left. He was also in the Puscifer pit and he was killing everyone’s vibe, screaming fuck you to them on stage, saying fuck you to the people around him, pushing everyone and screaming help and security in a mocking way when others were not enjoying how he was acting and wanting help or security to do something (which the didn’t)
He also occasionally got down on hands and knees and crawled through the people in the pit, sometimes switching to a bear crawl. He even did this on the part with the rocks, wearing only socks and a pair of shorts. A couple times, he grabbed my shoulders from behind, and yelled, “Whoa! You’re a big dude!”
Edit: I’m pretty sure this is also the same guy who was standing beside me with his significant other in the pit for the beginning of The Chicks set Friday night. At that time, he seemed a little rough around the edges, but perfectly nice. Whatever he took on Saturday, he (and only he) must have thought it would be a good idea to do it again on Sunday.
holy shit that’s Spiderwook!
He was outside the barricade for the Puscifer pit squatting down, smacking peoples calves and ankles as they walked in.

I actually saw the guy who bought the poster for $350, it was on Sunday before All Them Witches. When they told me how much it was, I thought it was the last one and they were trying to gouge or something. Didn't realize it was signed until after the guy bought it and was rolling it up into the poster container. I asked about regular posters, don't remember if it was Friday or Saturday but they told me they still had some in at the time.
Also saw the guy crawling around in the Puscifer pit not long before they started. Didn't think much of it at the time, had no idea he did all that other crazy stuff. That's wild.
Had the same ordeal with the Stevie pit. I came over after Herbie and what I think was happening was everyone coming in after the other sets ended had no idea which line was the pit due to lack of organization, or just didn't care. I couldn't tell what was what, so I bailed because I didn't want to take the risk I was actually line jumping. That's what happens when you don't open the pit until 10 mins before the show for a major headliner. In years past, I've seen them start admitting folks in within about 10 mins after the prior act ended so by the time people get there from other sets, everyone waiting for the pit is either in or it's full up. Not sure why they thought that would be a good idea.
What do you mean signed prints? Signed by artist or by the band? I got a foil Tool poster that was $80 on Thursday
same print was released Saturday but signed by Tool like they usually do. thank you for letting me know the regular ones were $80.
Ahh gotcha. I wasn't aware of a signed print and wouldn't have spent that much anyway. Once I was good and had mine Thursday I didn't go back to the merch tent
Hey everybody. I got home went to the store and to get takeout. Adrenaline and dopamine are withdrawing. Here’s a pit shot from King Gizzard that does well to caption the later night tent energy this year. Seriously some of my best moments were this or that - Goose, King Gizzard, Pigeons, Denzel, Rebillet, Andy Frasco, etc.
King Gizzard dripping tap
Think I will drink myself to sleep tonight to replenish all the missing grains from my diet having had to travel today /won’t catch me ridin dirty.

Top sets of the weekend:
1. Tobe Nwigwe 2. Tool 3. TWOD 4. Disclosure 5. Nora En Pure
Honorable Mentions:
1. Sierra Ferrel 2. The 502s 3. LP Giobbi WITW set 4. Turnpike Troubadours in Plaza 5
Worst sets:
1. Robyn Ottolini (was trying to sleep near the who stage on Sunday. Just trash corny pop country) 2. Black Tiger Sex Machine (huge bummer, something was up with the sound at the Other) 3. Suicide Boys (unpopular opinion maybe but when I was on acid I was like unable to get anywhere near the Which bc they were skeeving me out so much)
Some of y’all owe Stevie Nicks an apology for doubting her, she killed that shit!!
What a perfect ending. We were about 10-15 feet from the pit rail, left side. Amazing spot for a great show. Phone died last night , just now catching up on everyone’s posts. Whew what an awesome weekend
Oh man, we were in the same area it sounds like! Agreed, it was sooo great over there.

Remind me if we met up because I know I wanted to but can’t recall unless it was in passing or just a what’s uo?
Word on that Tobe set. One person I trust and that I posted the other morning’s peanut gallery top set swore by it. I was at Billy Strings which I will swear by because it has to be my top 1. But those and Tool seem to have gotten a lot of play from people. It’s weird that they were head to head. I didn’t even check into him because I had Billy circled which paid off for me. But since the rip is out there I got it queued up for later. I’m fanboying to the rip of Chvrches at sunset at the moment. Got damn I loved it so much for it to be the (mostly) first full set I’m rewatching. Pit crowd looks better than where I was at least until halfway when a switch got turned on. It might be some of my most favorite favorite moments and was at least an A- (only an hour and not my Chvrches set list). It’s not even making my top 10 sets which is reminding me of how much the music blunted the issues. Set after set after set that ruled and that you could get pretty close for anything you wanted to see. I’m not only crying because Chvrches isn’t making my top 10 not are like 10 other sets that I want on the list. I’m struggling with some of it.
Edit - set is great and would have further complicated my Top 10 [tm]. Houston’s been putting out great rappers for a couple decades now.
Double edit - I’m watching Sons of Kemet now which will likely be my #2 set of the festival even though I was almost a half hour late. Wtf? This is mixed perfectly for tv. Everyone I talked to was blown away but bitched about the sax volume if you were right or the Tuba (Theon Cross) from the left. I had issues too but the stream is great
What a fantastic roo experience. Right as my car pulled into the campgrounds it hit me I was finally back. The wait early wednesday morning was so clutch after the cluster fuck that was 2019 getting in. After we were set up the legendary winebag Wednesday began. Had a great time catching up with everyone and seeing flipturn in groop. Even made it where in the woods at one point just to see how far the walk was (long as fuck). Still maintain wednesday night is an essential part of roo!
Thursday turned really good to kinda lame when weval dropped. Literally had been jamming to them the whole week before and it def stunk when they canceled. The line to get was also outrageous. Wouldve easily taken us 40 minutes if we didn't run over to a new line right as they opened it. The searches were light though and had no problem sneaking in some booze all weekend. Saw some good shows.
The weather station - enjoyable show, good first act of the day
Blu detiger - Had no idea who this was but went here when wevel was suppose to play. Very impressed she was killing it. Played some fun covers
Wreckno - Was good for the first 10 minutes then went to shit. Bad set.
Clozee - super dope and had me grooving. It was obscenely hot at the other for this set though. Other felt like the most packed stage all day.
Goth Babe - really fun, didnt really know them until one of my friends played a song in the car and sent it. Second half of this set was super dope.
Dillon Francis - Only stayed for 20 minutes before crashing, but got what I expected. Fun EDM bangers
Maybe recency bias is a thing, but Friday may have been one of my favorite roo days ever. First off brunch was a blast. Even though the storm cut things short, it was great meeting, eating, and drinking with y'all! Met some new faces and get plastered with the usual suspects. The storm in hindsight was definitely a godsend as the weather after it was very manageable. Luckily, my camp made it out painlessly enough. After napping out of my brunch drinks i made it in for a legendary run of shows.
Dayglow - Probably the best early day set I saw. Learned here I'd be able to pit for really anything. Always good to start the day off vibin
The regrettes - Napped here idk
Robert Plant - Was great to see a legend, and fun to watch.
War of drugs - This is the set where things start to hit me. Almost teared up a little during this set. Not only was the music fantastic and shredding, but the sunset was a sight to behold. Really glad I got to share this moment with a lot of yall.
The chicks - Wow, just wow. I knew 0 of the chicks going into this and left a fan. They were absolutely killing it and the production was really dope. I was jumping around for a good chunk of this set.
John summit - really fun, basic edm which ill gobble up any day of the week.
Disclosure - I loved them at coachella and this set was even better at roo. Moshing with everyone during tondo was amazing. I lost everything in my bag doing that but was lucky random people found all my shit. Clutch.
Goose - They rocked. Had to sit in the back tho bc i was so tired from disclosure.
Lane 8 - easily my favorite set of the weekend. The vibe were a direct match to what you would want from a sunrise set. The crowd was also amazing for this show. Many of hugs were given out, and I danced until I could barely stand anymore then went back
Saturday was a good day that could've been a great day if it wasn't for flume. Pretty much did nothing during the day but nap in the grove.
Superjam - Fun, but felt it could've been better. Not enough bangers
Chvrches - Always a good set. Setlist was good too.
Billy strings - killed it. Knew nothing going in but left a fan. Was more trippy than i was anticipating.
Tool - This set was super fuckin dope. Was really cold though and was coming up at the same time. Had to run to the vendors on the what field and buy a sweatshirt and pants. Saved my life and let me soak in how cool this was.
Flume - Sound was so ass. I could hear the people next to me farting during the show. Definitely a letdown given how good his coachella set was.
Marc - I'm a hater. Mid.
PPPP - Only stayed for 10 mins before lake but it was fun.
Chris Lake - Was basically fanboying out the whole time i was here. Played some straight bangers and i couldn't stop moving. This man knows how to get ya steppin! Wish my body didnt give out 90 mins in but whatever.
Sunday I was completely dead to start off the day (nothing a little grove nap couldn't handle though). After chugging a cold brew and smashing a couple beers it was go time. durkle snuck in a winebag too which was key all day.
Tash - Nothing special but it was enjoyable. Worth standing in the sun the whole set.
Tierra whack - rager of a set, the dj was a lil annoying but the show slapped (and so was the bag)
G Jones - Had me headbanging start to finish. A little wook bass is sometimes just what the soul needs.
Herbie - Fun set to listen to and chill from the back.
Roddy Rich - My surprise set of the weekend. Drunkenly decided to leave herbie when he started and I honestly don't regret it. Man had a backing band and was killing his verses. The crowd was lit af in the pit (which I walked right into)
Stevie - the show was fine and dandy but the group I was with made it the funnest time i've had during a sunday headliner. We were singing, dancing, and even broke out a mosh pit or two! Shoutout to JTR, Jortles, Tristan, Todd, Cum, Tranter, Durkle, Maddog, and more for sharing this set with me. Ending the weekend there just felt right to me and is a moment I shall not soon forget.
Overall I would say this was one of my favorite roo's because of all the people I shared it with. Crazy how close of bonds you can make with people from a site as dumb as this one. There is almost too many names to include in a shoutout. I truly love and appreciate everyone of you.
On the negitive, there were times here where i felt the weaker lineup. There were some gaps that I was truly unenthusiastic about and none of the earlier acts really made me leave my resting place in the grove. Another bad thing was the groop camping location, I legit think it was up there with worst walk on the farm this year. Super far from both the entrance and WITW, the jamtrak could've solved this issue but it was a complete clusterfuck. I didn't even muster up the courage to walk to the jesus tent lol. However, like they say, the longer the walk, the better the roo.
If I had to rank the roos I've been to I'd probs do it something like this
2018
2022
2019
2016
2017
Top 5 Shows
1. Lane 8
2. Disclosure
3. Chris Lake
4. Tool
5. The war on drugs
HM: chicks, stevie
Just like I predicted. Cheese edm carried the lineup.
stopped in to drop off some things with my Roo buddy who left early and eat lunch with the girlfriend about an hour and a half from home, then got home just in time for the Ole Miss baseball game, finally showered after, and just got in bed so haven’t had time to write a recap or anything unfortunately
think that it’ll get done at work tomorrow with a top 5-10
been enjoying seeing everyone’s thoughts on the weekend so far!

Love this so much. Can't wait to hear my mom's reaction when I send her this video when she asks what Bonnaroo is like.
so there I am, 1 person back from the rail at Tool, when all of a sudden I feel something on my leg, looking down it is a full sized "human", my immediate reaction is "what the fuck?!"
Im then worried this dude fell face first into the gravel directly behind the rail, then when he stands up I'm thinking he's crawled underneath me to steal my spot, me and the woman next to me he also crawled under both yelled at him to leave and she pushes him away, the security guard starts looking in our direction trying to figure out the situation and then stands up on the rail to find the dude. I just kind of shake it off like what an asshole.
I later come to find out that I was attacked by the Spider Wook and he had crawled away after being pushed out by us and the security guard was probably confused as to where this mystery man had popped up and disappeared, not expecting a man to crawl around in the pit.
definitely over took "guy with dog trying to trade me ectasy for a drag of a joint" during Dead & Co as my most terrifying wook experience
that said they should definitely have some sort of haunted house type experience with the spider wook for plaza 8 next year as it was lacking in a plaza experience compared to the rest
Fuuuck man seeing that King Gizz set makes me wish so bad I could go. I'm not regretful of coming back to Seoul to marry my soulmate, but damn if Bonnaroo wouldn't have made for the ultimate bachelor party. What's going to top that for next year? Thee Oh Sees? Have they ever played Bonnaroo before?

Holy shit, I'm finally about to board my first flight home. Flight is 5:10 but we got to the airport around 5 last night (deto had an 8 pm flight). Thought I'd hang in the airport overnight and get some food and drinks. Dumbass me didn't know they wouldn't check my bags until a few hours before flight. So I have been hanging at the only cafe until it closes and then hard floors and uncomfortable metal chairs designed to make you not want to sit for long.

I’ll post a better review later but as far as the acts I saw, this was one of the best Bonnaroos I’ve attended! I also didn’t personally experience much as far as logistical headaches except one long wait to get into Centeroo. Maybe we were lucky.
That was the last Roo of my 20s and I am for sure feeling it today!

What a weekend, felt nice being back on the farm for the first time since 2018. This was my 9th year and first year doing groop camping...some notes/thoughts from the weekend...
the good - The crowds, or lack thereof (never had an issue getting up close for a show, only really ever felt crowded at Stevie) - Walking into the Tool pit 10mins before their set - The stage production was def upped this year (The Other was pretty great and the sound issues at Which seemed to have been fixed, also Where in the Woods was really awesome, that daft punk helmet stage was awesome) - The crowd seemed to be fairly chill, no real issues with talkers or anything during sets - The extra "bridge" between What area and Centerro, where the Who stage used to be (this cut through def helped move the crowds)
the bad - Late sets (Regrettes, Superjam, Sidepiece, VNSSA)...seemed like not enough time was given for breakdown for certain acts. The Other after Gryffin ran late all night due to them taking an hour to take his set down. - The Other issues...SAidepiece, Nora, and Chris Lake all had sound issues to start their sets. Nora ended up missing like 15mins of her set at the beginning due to the issues. - The walk from Groop camping - Bathrooms in groop camping plaza not flushing on Sunday morning/afternoon - The scalding showers in Plaza 5
the music
kasablanca - great set, maybe only like 50-75 people showed up but they went hard cloonee - fun tech house, again not very many people at Where sidepiece - generic festival set but the crowd seemed to love it vnssa - best set of Thursday, she had everyone grooving
tove lo - sounded great, played everything i wanted to hear, not terribly hard to get a spot up close at What for this the regrettes - started almost 30mins late, sound issues...once they came on we only stayed for a couple sounds since it was so delayed, sounded good though japanese breakfast - stayed fpr the first 3-4 songs, she sounded great, again not a huge crowd at all the chicks - biggest crowd of the weekend so far, ended up just laying down on a blanket, couple friends I came with were super into the set and really enjoyed it disclosure - wayyyyy better than their Coachella set, even though it was very similar, seeing them at night and with a much louder sound than they had on the Outdoor at Coachella, really made a huge difference lp giobbi - very fun show, her mix of White Rabbit and then the Kim Petras/ABBA mix had me flying lane 8 - this was next level, it felt like he was taking us on a journey. the set just kept building and building, again, much better than his set at Coachella, having 3hrs at roo didn;t hurt though
superjam - that Jump cover to start was really quite bad...but then it all picked up. the couple songs with goose were incredible and hearing the Bruse cover with Britt from Spoon was awesome chvrches - only caught a couple songs but they sounded great, decent crowd billy strings - never heard a billy song prior to this, was getting there early for Tool...this guy blew me away though, def not a genre of music I'm into but he is super talented, they went hard tool - LOUD...saw this from the pit and it was magical seeing Maynard up there like a goblin, they sounded so tight. was pretty disappointed to see how small their crowd was when we left for gecs. 100 gecs - craziest pit of the weekend, they had everyone going nuts in that tent. the crowd was pretty small to start but everyone was super into it. nora en pure - despite the sound issues/delay, her visuals were stunning and she caught a good pace about halfway through the set chris like - favorite set of the weekend, he had everyone movingggggg. it was such a party up front. having him mix in innerbloom as the sun was rising over the farm wwas truly a moment for me.
tash sultana - very impressed, but how much of what she is doing is live? i didn't see her trigegring a ton of loops/samples while things were happening, a lot of it seemed prerecorded but she sounded great dombresky - very fun set, took everything i had to still be dancing on a sunday afternoon puscifer - not familiar with them but really enjoyed this set, it was weird in all the right wayus rezz - fav set of sunday, she went hard stevie nicks - she sounded pretty damn good, wish she had done a little bit more FM but the petty and zeppelin covers in the encore were great.
Had a great time. My favorite part of the weekend came when I needed it the most. We got there Wednesday and set up camp and it was hot. Like really hot. Like my body was just not great. Was second guessing the whole thing. Thursday morning, it was already hot and I was close to just saying fuck it and going home. I had to use the bathroom and went to the porta potty and I walked in and saw graffiti with an arrow pointing down to the bowl that said “All You Can Eat”. It was then that I knew I was home…
I giggled for like a half hour and it became the phrase of the weekend.
