My Top Sets (roughly in order):
Goose Herbie Hancock Tool War on Drugs Slowthai Billy Strings Stevie Nicks 100 Gecs King Gizz Puscifer Clozee Lane 8 Sons of Kemet Plant & Krauss
HM: Literally everything else I saw
Some sets like Gizz and Kemet suffered because of how tired I was, but I still had a ton of fun, and I'll definitely be rewatching the recordings. Some like TWOD and Slowthai were elevated because of the environment and people around me. Goose, Herbie, and Tool just straight fucked me up. Stevie was way better than I expected and I got a bit emotional. Apart from Flume's sound issues I thoroughly enjoyed every set I attended. All the performers felt genuinely excited to be at Bonnaroo and it showed in their sets.
I had the best camping spot I've had - right behind the House of Yes. It was a super quick walk to Centeroo, but my schedule was pretty full every day, so I don't think I ever even made a camp run.
Brunch was great and it was awesome to see so many people from this board - some expected and some unexpected. Coming from Florida I rarely run into people I know at sets, so it really made the festival more fun to see familiar faces in the crowd by chance. You're all spectacular and I can't wait to see you again!
Complaints time:
As far as the actual running of the festival goes, I have a few gripes.
1. So many damn sponsored installments. Coca cola, liquid death, toyota, jersey mikes, red bull, bacardi, etc, etc, etc. Everywhere you turned in the main area of centeroo there was a corporate installment and most people probably don't give a shit but its just ugly to me. Feel like there were more than usual this year.
2. Campsite names. I can't lie, the number-letter system is easy to understand, but its just no fun. The stage names are all confusing as shit, so let the campsites be too. Its funny and adds charm.
3. No plaza balloons. WTF? How much does a big balloon cost? Makes no sense they wouldn't continue to use those.
4. No handwashing stations at portos. Nothing else to say about that one
5. No artist name signs at the stages. Another thing that most people probably won't care about, but I think it is fun and unique. Also sometimes you just wander up to a set and want to know who's playing. Another thing that adds almost no cost but adds character.
6. Removing second entrance. Its dumb.
This stuff is all just the sort of thing that Live Nation is going to do as a huge publicly held corporation who has to cut costs, but I feel like they just drain some magic from the festival. I just hope there are some people in the room who have been to multiple Bonnaroos and actually give a shit about the festival. Feels like its more of a line on a balance sheet to them.
Complaints aside, this was my best Bonnaroo yet thanks to all of the beautiful people and great concerts. Bonnaroo is my favorite festival and it certainly hasn't lost its magic. Everyone was stoked to be back on the farm after 3 years and it felt amazing to be together. Every inforooer was incredibly friendly and I will undoubtedly be seeing many of you in the near future, and the rest I'll see next year on the farm <3

I had a wicked good time. Never waited to get into center roo. Was right off main street inbetween the grove and house of yes. The walk to groop plaza was brutal on weds and thurs but completely worth it for Turnpike Troubadours. Billy Strings melted half my face and then tool melted the other. I was solo but had cool neighbors who took me in. The thin crowds made it nice to pop around in gaps and check out new stuff. I havent been since 2009 so upgrades all seemed good. Im also not really into edm but got sucked in a few times since it fit my mood and the other stage is cool. Tash into the Puscifer pit was also really cool. The major negative was lack of soap but i had sanitizer with me at all times.
I went Solo as well and had the best freakin time.
You and livesbydryshampoo were very (noticeably) missed at brunch. So was snowman but he popped by the next day. BTW, snowman, I have all the Olaf shirts that you left. I have pitney bowes and can mail to you with tracking if you would like. LOL

So Voodoo fest always had Toyota as a sponsor, and they would screenprint bandanas. I personally think that at a stupidly dumb hot festival that would have been the move not clear bags. We did notice the sponsors but Voodoo has been doing that for years and other festivals have stages sponsored so that portion didn't bother me.
No handwashing stations, regardless of how prepared I am with my own, is still fucking nasty. Especially at a camping festival.
I agree about the names on the stages. I legit told thejeremy that I wish they had the signs even if it was just handwritten and small like JazzFest does.
LOL
*Put head down in shame* I know I know, I was so caught up in other things before I knew it it was already 2 o'clock

I woke up at 3pm one day, sometimes you just go with the flow and make the most out of it.
Oh also pretty much any complaints I have have already been covered BUT I will say that I was wrong about Groop being absurdly far from Centeroo. Sucks that the Other entrance wasn't open but tbh I didn't think the walk was too bad.
And I will take this opportunity to reiterate that regardless of how dorky they look, Crocs are the best festival shoe and my feet never hurt all weekend.
Random thought but I think they should rename The Other. Who and Where (in the Woods) are already taken but When/Why/How could suffice. Just kinda feels weird for the last in the phrase "this, that, and the other" to be a full stage with pillars and production value.

Crocs all the way!
my feet are screeeeeeaming at me and I have to change it up for 2023. I love crocs but don't little rocks get all in there? This is why I haven't done crocs or keens in the past (especially at The Farm)

keep 'em. I don't need anymore olaf shirts lol. I think I got them when I had to cancel my roo 21 trip and whoever wanted to wear one at brunch would be my surrogate.
if you don't want them, and nobody else does, I'll take em though. don't want you to have to hold onto a bunch of random t shirts.

Surprisingly that happened only maybe five or so times throughout the weekend. They're super easy to take on and off though. I found I got far more rocks under my feet while wearing Tevas, which required more of a stop to adjust.
honestly might just be my favorite festival weekend ever for a number of reasons. most notably, i didn’t see anything even close to a bad set, met countless new friends, and met up with some dear friends that i haven’t seen since Roo 2019. of the sets i saw, i don’t think they reach my top 5 ever or anything but damn they were solid and many of them exceeded my expectations even when they were unnecessarily high.
got in around noon on Thursday and set up camp in the god awful heat before meeting up with Capital Cincy and then the aforementioned Roo 2019 friends. met quite a few Inforoo folks over the course of the day with the first of those being Dan808 i believe. the day’s run was Parrotfish > Nothing > The Weather Station > Blu DeTiger > Adam Melchor > Indigo de Souza > Clozee > Sons of Kemet > Gryffin > Role Model with SoK absolutely being my favorite of the day, what a party.
Friday of course started with brunch where i met so many of you lovely people before scurrying away to help make sure camp was alright and ended up having to put everything up bc my campmates had already started pulling shit up. guy who rode with me ended up leaving to stay at a friends apartment in Nash bc he felt bad and ended up flying home Saturday (negative for Covid, was prob dehydrated and exhausted from going to Montana last weekend). anyways, what ensued was an absolutely ridiculous day, specifically late night. the run was Tove Lo > Isaiah Rashad > JBrekkie > TWOD > Bleachers > The Chicks > J. Cole > KGATLW > Goose > Lane 8 with TWOD, KG, and Goose all being 10/10 for me. didn’t make it to sunrise in Centeroo but caught it some at camp and went to sleep listening to Lane 8 finish his set which was nice.
Saturday was another great yet shorter day as I didn’t even make it to any of Chris Lake or Nora En Pure unfortunately. the run was The Backseat Lovers > Lucille Croft > Moore Kismet > Mt. Joy > Chvrches > Billy Strings > Suicideboys > Tool > Porter Robinson > 100 Gecs > Flume with Billy Strings being my top set for sure. so pumped we got all of the crowd pleasers including my favorite in Away From the Mire
Sunday started early with getting rail for Flipturn and turned into a fairly chill but great day with multiple sets caught with great friends. the run was Flipturn > The Aces > Tash Sultana > Nathaniel Rateliff > Zach Bryan > Herbie Hancock > Wallows > Stevie Nicks with Flipturn and Stevie Nicks being my top sets of the day though Stevie probably takes the cake tbh because what a perfect ending.
i’m not sure i can do a properly ranked top 10 right now, so just gonna list my top 10 in no particular order.
Sons of Kemet KGATLW Goose Lane 8 Moore Kismet Billy Strings Flipturn Zach Bryan Tash Sultana Stevie Nicks
main complaints for the weekend are consistent with what others have already said: caught in a terrible line of Friday that left me waiting nearly an hour even after skipping the line with some friends who were up ahead, lack of sanitary devices near bathrooms was frustrating, general lack of bathrooms (though the ones by Who Stage were always clean and reliable for me).
lots of good food, great people, incredible music, and an outpouring of positivity throughout the entire weekend, and i can’t wait to be back. with the way life is going to start going in the fall, im not sure if i’ll be back next year or when my return will be so Sunday was especially sentimental and emotional but i truly cannot complain about the weekend and have no regrets about any of the shows i saw or didn’t see. can’t thank everyone here enough for being so welcoming and wonderful each and every time i saw y’all. until next time in person friends, but im damn sure not leaving this forum!

I missed brunch too. But that wind advisory brought all of my neighbors together so there was a positive. We had already connected most of our campsites for shade and used the time to get to know eachother over drinks. Also ended up catching a lot of shows friday saturday and sunday with them. Was hoping to meet some of you especially for puscifer. I wasnt very talkative in the pit line due to tash sultana. Tried to leave for shade twice but sucked right back into the sun and vibes.

I kinda like that it has all of the things you mentioned and its called "The Other" like its some small side stage. Kinda ironic. Also since its really the only kind of genre specific stage where many people just post up for the weekend. I know what you mean about the phrase "This, That, and the Other" though. Realistically its more in line with Which and What. The production there really has gotten nice. I love how it looks from far away with those LED pillars and when you walk by the stage the whole view kind of shifts with your perspective
also, i thought Dan808 was definitely in his late 30s or something at least so when he texted me and said he had a mullet i was like “ah interesting choice”
then i met him and was shocked to see he was younger and the mullet definitely fit him well lmao
not sure why i got the older vibe but it’s certainly not a diss
props to you for jamming so hard during TWOD and still holding on tightly to that Corona

Dude DanBon is Gen X. He's had that mullet since 1979.
You could tell the crowd at MGK was big because Herbie show was almost exclusively Inforoo users
Feel bad for people that left Herbie after his slow(ish) start. That 2nd half RIPPED! The wife and I listened to him the whole way home.
He definitely turned us into big fans this weekend and when he "jumped" at the very end...I just wanted to give him a big hug. He's the black grandfather I never had 😆
I don't know if it was the universe or God looking out for me but I never ran into any of the issue's reported, longest I waited to get into CenterRoo was 10 minutes and some of the small things like toilet paper and hand sanitizer running out I just don't even think much of, I just expected it from any fest and come prepared
It's tough for me to post a list of my favorite sets because everything was a Bonnaroo Buffet for me all week. It's rare that I saw a whole show because I was trying to do a little of everything.
Everything begins and ends with King Gizz for me. I'd been waiting for years and there was zero disappointment, I had the time of my life. I want to hype up Flipturn but I can't in any way be unbiased now that they're good buddies. But still I hope to be objective and say they really destroyed it, even more at their Sunday set.
Any festival where you get to have such a great overall time and then basically see Zeppelin and Fleetwood live is a good time in my book.

Same.
Also...username checks out.
Yeah man just come with all the things and it won't matter if they run out. btw added soap sheets to the repertoire this year, they don't work great unless the water is hot
I thought the galactic giddy up stage was a great addition. Felt bad for that sun on flipturn but having centeroo and the moon behind during turnpike was perfect. Being able to bring my own drinks over was a huge bonus. Shannon and the clams was great and so close but should have been on a bigger stage anywhere else.

Yep and also coming with all of the things helps you be a great neighbor. I always made sure to bring my full package of wipes to the porta potties in case I noticed someone looking for toilet paper. Our pod was always low on TP and you're not only your own lifesaver but you can make someone else's day a little easier!
1. The War on Drugs - There's something special about a perfect show at sunset and this was one of those. Highlight of the weekend for me and will go down as one of my favorite festival shows ever. 2. Lord Huron - I thought they were excellent and had a nice setlist that I really enjoyed. 3. CHVRCHES - Laruen playing Superjam and then literally running over to do her set right after lol. She was great tho, love her. Only complaint is how do you not play "Good Girls"??? That song fking bangs and was looking forward to hearing it. 4. Shannon & the Clams - This was such a cool show. Short set, but every song was great and the live performance was awesome. I would say I'd just like to see them perform on a bigger stage with more people but I think the small crowd intimacy added to how cool it was. 5. All Them Witches - They killed it. Wish a few more songs were played that I like from them, but overall it was really good.
HM: Stevie, Superjam, many others.
New discoveries: Adam Melchor, Michaela Anne, Patrick Droney
Random cool moment: Getting to meet Joy Oladokun as she was casually checking out Patrick Droney at This Tent before her set on Sat. Told us she'd be performing at the Superjam later. She just seems like a really cool person.
Good Girls is so good it should have been the last song she played. Huge miss not playing it. But yeah a great set overall.
Seriously... like I hate to be a stickler or critical over just one song but don't understand how you exclude that song. Great set still but yeah, huge miss not playing it.
