I would love a low key crowd year. I missed 16 for Panorama and get big sad sometimes over missing it. I totally see why the kids aren’t flocking to get tickets for this lineup.
Back in 2016 and 2017 I was a lot more worried about what the future of Bonnaroo would look like after such a low selling year. Now, I'm not at all.
There's too much investment made in the site and the brand for Live Nation to give up on it. But more importantly, the community has kind of shown that it doesn't need the actual corporate-backed event that badly anyways. At least a half dozen Mini Bonnaroo's cropped up last year, and even though they didn't have big names playing them, a lot of the same people got together and had a really great time anyways. That whole community DIY ethic will long survive inevitable corporate change.
But as for the big event, we're less than two months out now. It feels funny to basically be ready for it now and not have to rush anything. We've got the bus ready to go, I'm basically just tinkering with it and adding fun new stuff at this point.
But more importantly, the community has kind of shown that it doesn't need the actual corporate-backed event that badly anyways. If ‘Roo books MMJ fer another 3-hour late night set I’ll buy a ticket again. But never again without seein’ a lineup. I guess I’ll enjoy the smaller crowds again, but I’d rather they just book a great lineup.

I'm happy to see stuff is shipping but I feel like my real emotional catharsis won't come until I'm parked and have feet on the ground.
I probably shouldn’t be excited until my feet are on the Farm but after this wait (2 1/2 years since my last fest) I can’t help but get excited/emotional over the little things

Announced Jauz, channel tres and Dillon Francis are at where in the woods and the plaza names are announced (unless they already were before?). Ideal Thursday is nothing and indigo are first two shows, then back to solo camp for a couple drinks then Paul cauthen and turnpike at the campgrounds into sons of kemet at centeroo. Would def be my best Thursday I've had at roo

Campground lineups were made last month but todays post told us where NGHTMRE, Dillon Francis, Channel Tres and Jauz will be
I don't want to have to go back and forth from the campgrounds to Centeroo to the campgrounds to see bands. That's a lot of travel time and time waiting in line to get into Centeroo again.
Save the money and just put it towards talent in Centeroo. I shouldn't have to go on a quest just to see a band play.
That's why I'm down on them spending so much effort on plaza acts.

Looks like The Grove is getting a rebrand of sorts:
"Plaza 7: ROOm of Rhythm Someone, or something is lurking within the trees! Enter a new colorful world created by Wade + Leta whilst dancing with Mythic Times creatures amongst Brett Douglas Hunter monsters."
When I went by on Saturday, I saw that the old Snake & Jake's barn in Centeroo was still painted white from last year. I'm really hoping they move that wedding venue into the camps and let that be Snake & Jake's as God intended.
