cdevaney I get what you're saying re:campgrounds but the exploration is actually one of my favorite parts of big camping fests and other than Electric Forest I've never been to a fest that's more fun to explore than roo. It's nice that this year it will pay off with decently big edm name sets.

I’ll admit that my first two years back in ‘07 and ‘08 I was just a wide-eyed 23/24 year old, and I loved takin’ all of it in. Since I’ve gotten older, and not that much had changed over the years, I did not care much to explore. And when camped out in Super BFE/POD 13 I was too damn tired to care with all the walkin’!
If the weather isn’t hell on Earth like usual, then maybs I will do some wanderin’ on Weds/early Thurs. Now I don’t have a huge list of must see acts either, so I might see what’s there. But not likely.

The campgrounds is what convinced me to go my first 2 years. Exploring everything that's happening at Bonnaroo is something you don't get to do at many other places. I've done about a dozen different festivals but nothing as unique as Bonnaroo
JamTrak sounds like a great idea, but I kind of want to see if it actually works well before really understanding if I can count on it or not.
I'm kinda suspecting there will be backed up lines for people trying to take it since there will only be so many on limited routes. From the images and video I saw last year before things got called off, it looked like each tractor / trailer combo would only hold around two dozen people at most. I'm hoping it will work well, but I kind of think the odds are stacked against it at high usage times.
After going to Okeechobee and seeing how they handled it, I think it's time for Roo to just let people bring bikes and ride them in the campgrounds. Everyone could just be responsible for their own campground transportation and handle it themselves. We've long suspected they didn't want bikes since very un-sober people would cause accidents on them, but I didn't see or hear of anything like that happening at Okee.
With sales being on the low end will they do an official discount on tickets? 16 was my first year so I really don’t remember if they did something like that

Most likely not, but resale tickets should be cheap!
I don't want to have to go back and forth from the campgrounds to Centeroo to the campgrounds to see bands. That's a lot of travel time and time waiting in line to get into Centeroo again.
Save the money and just put it towards talent in Centeroo. I shouldn't have to go on a quest just to see a band play.
That's why I'm down on them spending so much effort on plaza acts.
Tell me about it. They should be playing right outside my tent. I'M A VIP, DAMMIT!
I think a lot of these acts will be playing right outside people's tents and I don't really love that idea.

No. They would be inundated with people who already had tickets looking for money back and there's no certainty that dropping prices will noticeably move sales.
It would be a self induced logistical and PR headache.

still sitting at 299 last I checked, I guess the next domino to fall is the schedule and that might push them one direction or another?

they will drop more. try to find tickets on cash or trade or r/bonnarootickets or something. lots of people listing prices high, but eventually they are gonna want to make some of their money back and prices will drop. before it got cancelled because of the hurricane, even 2021 which was sellling well saw tickets dropping to about 240-250ish in the weeks before. really just depends how comfortable you are waiting until the last minute to buy tickets. once the wristbands actually ship out to people I'll bet prices start dropping more.
I've got Rick Farman booked to be on our podcast the week after next. Got anything you'd like me to ask him?
How are tickets pacing compared to 2019?
Do you still have faith in the 2 guys that book Bonnaroo after they booked this lineup that isn't selling as well as 2020 or 2021?
Will you ever consider bringing in a 3rd person to help book the lineup that is familiar with the current landscape of Pop and Electronic music?
Lineup wise - What is Bonnaroo's current identity that stands apart from Coachella, ACL and Lollapalooza? How do you see this shifting over the next 5 years?
What is the biggest, most head-turning artist that Bonnaroo has tried to book since U2?
Would you travel 2 hours for this year's Sunday lineup if it was free?
What was the thinking behind booking Roddy Rich at number 3 on his day?

I think most of us are too old for MGK. I've been talking to my sister and her friends (early to mid twenties) and when I show them the lineup they all get excited for him. So I can kinda understand the booking.
It’s easy to see with Roddy Ricch they were trying to do the thing they often try to do where they predict which artists will blow up
It just clearly didn’t work this time around
Yeah, I 100% agree that it's a milquetoast booking but he's had 21 songs in the Hot 100 in the past three years, including two #1s. I don't need some big investigation into why some dumbo thought he'd be name to book, its pretty obvious.
Rick was one of the co-founders of Bonnaroo along with AC.
He's still with Superfly so he isn't really involved anymore, he's going around to a few places promoting a new festival where he's trying to get a lot more community involvement.
I'm leaving all of the music business stuff to Brad and Barry, I think they are going to have him on too. I'm more interested in hearing some of the stories about when Bonnaroo started, but also what he thinks of the current direction now that Superfly isn't involved anymore.
