Centeroo is for shows, campgrounds are for sleeping.
Shit. I've been doing Roo wrong.
Yes. Sleep wherever you need to IMHO. Stevie’s set is over and hopefully will be uploaded and revised to proper in the next few hours or overnight. I want that info.
This what I got from local writer Keith Spera. Don’t have the full list, and it’s a different crowd than Bonnaroo. But…
Excerpts from Stevie Nicks Made People Cry on her HL day dominated by female artists:
The Revivalists saluted the Foo Fighters at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Saturday by covering “Times Like These.”
But they didn’t make people weep the way Stevie Nicks did by dedicating the bittersweet ballad “Landslide” to her pal Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters’ late drummer.
That extremely intimate moment played out in front of a massive crowd at the main Festival Stage. The crowd felt even denser than the throng that watched the Red Hot Chili Peppers fill in for the Foo Fighters at the Fair Grounds last Sunday, even spilling onto the dirt track.
Maybe it was pent up demand. Nicks first performed at the festival with Fleetwood Mac in 2013. Fleetwood Mac was supposed to replace the Rolling Stones in 2019, only to bow out as well.
Then Nicks was booked for both the 2020 and 2021 Jazz Fests, which were scuttled by the pandemic. She finally made it to the festival on a hot, sunny Saturday.
At the opposite end of the Fair Grounds, Nicks opened her first show in nearly three years with "Outside the Rain." “I have been home watching miniseries, wearing really comfy pants and teaching my dog how to shake hands,” she said of her pandemic activities. “He doesn’t quite have it yet.”
Getting back to work, Nicks cruised through Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” and her own “Enchanted” and “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.” Between “Gypsy” and “Rhiannon” she showed off the original cape she wore on the cover of the 1981 album “Belladonna.”
A persistent “boom, boom” bedeviled and distracted her throughout the show. She couldn’t pinpoint the source, but it may have been the bass from Badu’s stage.
Nevertheless, she pressed own. She covered Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’,” another tribute to a fallen friend.
Her finale was a charge through Led Zeppelin’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll.” It had indeed been a long time since Nicks rocked and rolled.
“It was a journey,” a relieved Nicks said of her Saturday show.
A journey that concluded in front of a staggering crowd at Jazz Fest.
I trust Spera and generally agree with almost everything he writes about shows we were both at. I don’t think that the show will translate the same to a crowd which probably averages 35-40 years younger than likely her JF set. But this is pretty encouraging and wish I could have gotten over there instead of having to make sure I didn’t catch coronavirus. I’ll look for some clips next few days that get uploaded.

Would be super happy with this to end Roo. Sorry not sorry. Would love for two Petty songs too but not gonna hold hope for Free Falling. Thank god If Anyone Falls got played.
Probably a better chance Free Fallin will make it. Depending on how much time Bonnaroo gives her would determine which additional songs she might play. She’s got a West Coast date at The Gorge in 3 days and then another show in Washington state in June followed by Mountain View, CA then Bonnaroo. I’m eager to see what remains is added or changes from the list. I’m slightly pessimistic that she will conflict with G. Jones, but i’d likely skip the majority of his set if so.

Edit - Free Fallin added.
Am I really the only one who doesn't like seeing setlists before shows?

Would love if she revisited Learning To Fly from her 2006 trip to the farm.

That Stevie set list is pretty identical to what she was playing pre-covid so I wouldn’t expect too many surprises for Bonnaroo. Was hoping for a little bit more FM instead of the recent solo stuff she’s doing.
I just talked to Flipturn's agent and apparently they haven't been given a time for their Sunday show yet, so who knows what the deal with the schedule is. Maybe they're just doing the campgrounds / activities schedule first.

That's odd I honestly thought all of the artists are given a set time when they are booked. One that's subject to be adjusted. But still

this was such a cool moment. still gives me chills to listen to it. they included this version on the heartbreakers live anthology disc that came out.
I was scared that we were going to lose Flipturn to scheduling conflicts for a bit there, but we just totally confirmed everything. Shit's gonna get wild.

Yeah once Bonnaroo had a bit of a mix up, we had to change our scheduling around a bit.
Flipturn was originally going to play at 10PM, but we got moved to 5PM because of a minor snafu on Roo's side. For a few days there it looked like the band wasn't going to be able to make it there that early, but we finally got it sorted out and confirmed today.
We still will have the other programming too, but it got moved to Tuesday. But that's just the extra stuff like our rookie event, B2B2B, and Mitchell's late night show. The big deal was getting Flipturn for Wednesday, but that's good to go now.

Oh I forgot Flipturn was playing your thing. I'll try to make it there. I saw some of their set at Shaky Knees and really enjoyed it

Not anymore
i mean if i'm at the food trucks in centeroo in 2023 and it's saturday and i get it on good authority that phish is playing a secret set in plaza 10, but Trombone Shorty is playing in This Tent at the same time, my feet would probably convince me that it has been several years since i've seen trombone shorty.
with the emphasis on shows and programming at different plazas, I surely hope they have a way to get people in and out of centeroo efficiently. the hassle of leaving centeroo, getting to a plaza for a show, and then getting back into centeroo seems like a good reason to just stay in centeroo. like there are times in the past where I've thought "oh, i'll catch part of a set on What and then book it over to That to catch the end of so and so" and end up abandoning that plan because logistically moving around centeroo can be time consuming.
Back when we had Roo annually, they could figure that kind of thing out pretty well based on the data from the previous year. They take that RFID entry and exit data and can make some pretty good decisions based on that for traffic flow.
But now that we're going to have a ton of new people and Bonnaroo is in effect rebooting, a lot of precedents like that pretty much go out the window so it'll be interesting.

Lucky they're only getting half the attendees. A lot more flexibility.
So maybe we get a Superjam announcement this week and no schedule?
From what I can tell, the latest they announced the schedule was three weeks prior to Bonnathursday — in 2021, which never happened. If that’s the new norm, the latest they’d announce is May 26. Just speculating.
Is the Superjam announcement ever particularly interesting? Aren’t they just going to list a bunch of people who are already on the lineup?
I always enjoy knowing who (if it's one or two people) is curating and leading it. I was much more excited about Jim James or Questlove led Superjams than some others that were announced years after those.
Though, now that I'm looking it all up I'm learning that Jack Antonoff is hosting it and it's going to be a 1984-themed Superjam. I guess 80's jam party can be fun but I'm also not really as into that as something in earlier years like Ben Harper, Questlove, and John Paul Jones rocking out Zeppelin covers.
Also will probably be a lot of names I'm not even familiar with but if no big conflicts I'll be at the Superjam.
Superjam details are coming “soon”. That’s… something, I guess.
I’m guessing (?) it will be later if it’s held on the traditional Saturday night. I kind of wanted to go since they have been fun and this one is a different approach. The potential conflict list of it is Flume, Rebillet, 100 Gecs, was supposed to be Ludacris but ?, Chris Lake, PPPP and Nora en Pure. I would go to the Superjam over Flume or 100 Gecs. I don’t hate either but am indifferent to Chris Lake and Nora so might see pieces parts. Pigeons will probably be in or near Top 10 at the end of the weekend, so I’m not missing them. And I still haven’t seen Rebillet and will prioritize seeing some if not all of his set even if maybe Bonnaroo isn't the potentially hardest set he would play. A quality rap set is a wildcard but who knows if they add anyone
