Baby Keem or Big Sean on the main while Princess Nokia goes to a tent
Which slot on the Main tho? Where we currently have PN seems too early for either Baby Keem or Big Sean.
Switch with Groupo and then switch Woozy and Groupo
I also don’t think 430 main is that early for Baby Keem. Only reason later would make sense is if people think kendrick is coming but Kendrick coming out on the main at 430 >>> Sahara at 10
FWIW I also think Baby Keem on the main works. Hometown favorite, Kendrick almost assured to show up, seems like mainstage afternoon.
Big Sean I think is definitely Sahara in the mold of Cudi, Wiz, YG, French, etc.
The new anointed LA rap star on the main during the day when people would check him out, the veteran with party anthems much later in the Sahara.
EDITED TO ADD: And for the question of "room", I agree Princess Nokia is in a tent, and I know she's your friend but I don't see Phoebe anywhere near the main. She'll have a big crowd but I don't think she's mainstage - outdoor. And not to be a pill, but The Hu doesn't seem likely either. I don't know who opens up the main - nobody here wants them there, but wonder if Gizz is this year's Bonobo. The Marias? Snoh Aalegra like Sabrina Claudio? Basically I feel like the acts we have on the outdoor up through and including Still Woozy look more likely to play the main than the ones we have there currently LOL.
Baby Keem --> Grupo --> Lil Baby --> Harry Styles --> SHM would be my guess.
Any suggestions about how/where we should place some of these lower billed acts on Friday to make things look better? Also in regards to Friday, the Sahara might have too many acts. Should we move one or two out, and if so who, and if so, where should they go?
Here are my thoughts to make Friday a little more even. The 7:30 - 9:30 slot feels light right now. I can’t see CRJ getting that prime of a slot. Here are some suggestions to fix that. Do with it what you will.
Move the Hu to closing the Gobi. Move Bishop Briggs to Open the Main replacing The Hu
Move the Avalanches to where Carley Rae Jepsen is Move Carley Rae to the main where Princess Nokia

I think Big Sean goes on the main. Out of all of the rappers booked, besides Ye, he's the biggest celebrity. He has loads of mainstream hits he can run through that span over a decade now. I think Baby Keem will close the Sahara, mostly because I can see him ending the day with Kendrick doing family ties, range brothers + one of his own songs.
I'd, personally, have Lil Baby close the outdoor. Especially if Lil Baby is a pseudo 3rd on his day because of SHM, it'd be like Travis Scott being 3rd and closing the Outdoor 2017. Big Sean can have a start anywhere between 6-8 on the Main imo. I really don't think Still Woozy needs to be outside either and that could help the flexibility to move artists around.

I like all of this except it leaves the avalanches basically exactly where they played last time

I definitely thought that he was a weird opener for Harry. That said, I think we should stick with him on the main until we hear otherwise.
I also think Madeon makes more sense on the outdoor than Louis the Child. Somebody with better knowledge than myself please comment here, but I thought Madeon used visuals that were based on his position on the stage. Would those visuals still work in the Sahara or would you just forgo a couple of those moments where the lighting que is built for your stance?

Yeah I agree, but I think it makes sense to put the Avalanches against the weak repeating acts in the Yuma. (Martinez brothers and Lazarus). Kind of sucks to have them go against Daphni or Peggy Gou which is probably the two single largest fan base overlap.
Could switch the Avalanches and King Gizzard to put them a little later.

I really hope Lil Baby closes outdoor over opening for Harry. But if he does not sure who goes there. I assume it’s Daniel, Louis, Madeon or Phoebe. I feel one of the DJs get that and I think Phoebe stays on the main just cause we can’t have an all male man stage lineup

I guess if it's not Lil Baby closing the outdoor, it can definitely be either Big Sean or Keem. I agree with Phoebe, think she stays on the main.
The crowd shift from Lil Baby into Harry might be worse than it was from Lorde into Kendrick, sheesh
I don't see Phoebe anywhere near the main. She'll have a big crowd but I don't think she's mainstage - outdoor.
For what it's worth, Phoebe's last show in the bay area was selling out the Greek last year, and secondhand tickets were over $200 apiece. HAIM played the Greek before their 2018 subheadlining slot and it didn't sell nearly as well. Phoebe is surprisingly big. She's also a good fit for Harry stans. Flip side is she's also playing TANP.

Sorry - I think we're agreeing here on her popularity - I'm saying she'll definitely have a huge crowd, I just don't think she's mainstage. If SHM is closing this day, she really was set to be #5 until they screamed about their poster placement - going back to 2015, the only #5s to play the main were M83 and Bad Bunny. Other #5s though included St. Vincent, Beach House, David Byrne, Ryan Adams, Belle & Sebastian - more of a sonic fit for her - and they all played outdoor at sunset or at night. Plenty of #5s played Sahara but that's obviously not going to be the move for her LOL.

Man. looking at our 2nd lines again they are weak. Not in quality cause that’s personal. Just from drawing power. Lil Baby did an arena tour but it didn’t sell out everywhere. Doja big but hasn’t had a real tour yet. Same with Meg. Flume’s last tour sold out but hasn’t gotten more popular. Daniel Cesar……nothing lately. Don’t know of a Jamie XX or Elfman tour. Stromae rare. Groupo selling out arenas but different demographic.

I don’t think it’s weak, but it’s definitely lacking for Coachella vets. I’ve accepted that the headliner and second line will continue to veer further from my taste, but I thought the original 2020 lineup just crushed on every level so this one is a little bit of a let down.

I’m a Coachella vet and I love the second lines for my taste. But as in trying to see who is “a guaranteed main stage act” I don’t see any big dogs with touring track records.

Streaming has just changed the game so much. It used to be you had to tour and prove you could move tickets, but that’s just not how it is anymore. It has made it more difficult to place people especially since the last two years have eliminated so many touring opportunities. I just don’t think they planned on how much of a dud this SHM tour would be. It probably cost them a lot of money and reduced the amount they could spend on the second line substantially.
Have we considered that they might still be negotiating where SHM is playing? It would kinda make sense with their weird billing and that they wouldn’t comment on it to variety.

Are you giving us a scoop or speculating?
Everything points to Friday
why aren’t they just billed on Friday then? It would make way more sense to bill them as a Friday coheadliner than randomly at the bottom of the poster? And if they were definitely playing Friday why would both Coachella and their reps refuse to say that?
I think regardless of what day they are playing, they weren't going to get a co-headline billing ... so getting their name in headliner font size (at the bottom) was the only way they could do it so that both sides felt like they "won".
Totally goofy, but if they close the main stage late Friday/Saturday, and they're in headliner font, they can be headliners in their own mind.
It's like when you take your kid to the bumper cars and you're in the car with them and let them hold the wheel that doesn't actually control the car. You just pat them on their head and let them feel good about themselves.

why couldn’t they coheadline? It’s weirder to make a brand new section of the poster for them b

It's totally goofy, but I could easily picture how that was the only thing that was going to satisfy SHM. Was Harry's team really going to be cool with him sharing a line for his first major headlining gig? I dunno
