FRI: IDLES > Carly Rae > Slowthai > Phoebe Bridgers > the Hu/Bishop Briggs > King Gizz > bit of Harry Styles > Spiritualized > Avalanches biggest conflict: Phoebe vs Black Coffee
SAT: Japanese Breakfast > 100 Gecs > Freddie & Madlib > Hot Chip > bit of Megan > Danny Elfman > L'Imperatrice > Floating Points > Caribou biggest conflicts: Elfman vs BH last show ever, Isaiagh/Gecs/black midi, Caribou vs Billie
SUN: Sampha the Great > Altin Gun > Channel Tres > Orville Peck > bit of Vince Staples > wander for my last day of Coachella > Fred again.. > bit of RTJ > Jamie xx > Ye biggest conflicts: Maggie/Fred, Jamie/Emotional Oranges, Denzel and RTJ would be a hell of a run but can't justify staying there. Not to mention knowing I'll miss Fatboy surely
Overall y'all have done a magnificent job with taking out most of my conflicts I worried about. It's too perfect, ha. Genre wise it all makes sense, I just wish I could see more rap before Ye on Sunday without missing Maggie or Fred. Most stacked Sunday I've seen in a good while personally
Wait are you saying Brock will just close a stage until 1? If that’s the case sure it’s possible. But if you’re comparing it to Tame/Cudi with Billie finishing at 12 that’s not happening. She will play until 1
I moreso meant that their start time will be after Billie's start time.
Recent history doesn't suggest there's too much of a difference between non-top-three on their day 2nd line acts and 3rd line acts, in terms of placement. H.E.R. closed the Outdoor as a 3rd line act over Gessaffelstein who was 4th on their day in 2019. I'm not sure what "appear as any 3rd line act" or "bump a 2nd liner out of their spot" is supposed to mean? They very well could have gotten prime placement even without it being their last shows imo. Especially considering that BROCK is recognized as having an amazing live show.
Also there's absolutely no way BROCK is in the Mojave, they packed it out already in 2018 they won't fit in there lol BUT they could close the Outdoor and finish before Billie starts, which is the best possible placement imo
FRIDAY: Arooj Aftab -> Meute -> the Hu -> the Marias (split) Slowthai -> Epik High -> Madeon -> first half of Harry Styles -> King Gizzard -> the Avalanches
SATURDAY: Yard Act -> Amber Mark -> Masego -> Koffee -> Isaiah Rashad -> 100 Gecs -> Freddie Gibbs & Madlib -> black midi (first half) -> Hot Chip -> Danny Elfman -> L'imperatrice -> either Stromae or Brockhampton -> Disclosure
SUNDAY: AMÉMÉ -> Sampha the Great -> Surf Curse -> Dave or Channel Tres -> Viagra Boys (first half) -> Duck Sauce (2nd half) -> Crumb -> Chicano Batman -> Run the Jewels -> Fred again.. -> Fatboy Slim split with Jamie xx -> Kanye
It does but I think the biggest domino for Sunday is Vince. Every placement just feels wrong lol
Not sure what you mean exactly, can you clarify a bit?
Vince has closed the Sahara and played a sunset main. He’s billed lower 4 years later while I think his fame has remained constant. So moving him to early outdoor or early Sahara doesn’t seem right. His billing doesn’t make sense for the main unless he’s early in the day. Him doing late Sahara would be a waste considering how many other acts make more sense there. I want to say late outdoor is best but we got Joji and Jamie taking those spots.

I mean if you’re speaking on legendary status sure. But if Blessed Madonna and Richie had a set in LA the same night I think the Madonna set gets sold out first.

With the demotion and everything else that is going on that night, I do not think it is a foregone conclusion that Vince can only play the three biggest stages - put him in the Mojave at night against other big acts and I think he can definitely do that tent, no problem. Sure he could end up Main/Outdoor/Sahara but I don't think those are the "only" options for him.

I saw Blessed Madonna close the Do Lab a few years ago. It may have been one of the surprise sets, but there couldn't have been more than 30 people in there.
