Not sure what you mean exactly, can you clarify a bit?
Vince has closed the Sahara and played a sunset main. He’s billed lower 4 years later while I think his fame has remained constant. So moving him to early outdoor or early Sahara doesn’t seem right. His billing doesn’t make sense for the main unless he’s early in the day. Him doing late Sahara would be a waste considering how many other acts make more sense there. I want to say late outdoor is best but we got Joji and Jamie taking those spots.
Yeah, that's the issue. Without looking at the other artists on Sunday, Vince for a later Outdoor set makes a ton of sense, but I just don't see a way to give him that prime of a slot considering everyone else on Sunday's lineup.
I mean if you’re speaking on legendary status sure. But if Blessed Madonna and Richie had a set in LA the same night I think the Madonna set gets sold out first.
I saw Blessed Madonna close the Do Lab a few years ago. It may have been one of the surprise sets, but there couldn't have been more than 30 people in there.
Looks like a few more than that. Not bad for a surprise set during a headliner imo

I mean I definitely don’t see Maggie Rogers playing outdoor late but I also like the idea travelfan mentioned of Vince at Mojave doing a 830-930 set in the Mojave. I also think why Vince was billed so low is because he was a late add because he technically should be out by radius clause cause Tyler’s tour. All we know is this could be a favor and not a “new album showcase”.
Maybe his stage setup tomorrow will give us a clue
Also how confident are we in giving Kanye 2 whole hours as opposed to 90-100 minutes?
They'll give him two hours even if he wants 100 minutes just to pad it in case he is late or goes off on a 20 minute rant LOL. I also think they'll give him a comfortable set up time period as well for similar reasons. They're not stupid - they know there are 100 ways this could go wrong even if they do get him to the fields and they'll pad pad pad pad pad away.

I think the padding will be in the setup time (50-60 minutes after Doja). I don’t see him then getting padded twice with a longer set time. I think he will be 10:20 or 10:30
We all thought that there was no way Chvrches would play the Mojave in 2019, but that’s where they ended up. No reason Vince couldn’t do that same.
Except that everyone thought Chvrches was overbilled and their popularity justified a Mojave slot, even if they weren't billed for it and had previously played huge slots. Vince on the other hand is firmly solidified as a top act, popular, a growing catalogue of great songs, and now with new music coming.
Vince could play the Mojave, the stage is big and there's a lot going on that day, but the situations are not analogous. Something weird happened with his billing for sure; I'm more inclined to believe it's him not caring/trading for something else ($$$) than it is that PT just doesn't think Vince has the juice anymore.

I think Vince was overbilled in 2018 and is now under billed. I really think this was a favor since he’s performing at Staples next month. Like I’ll pay you extra to come out if you don’t care about billing. We just need names.

I was trying to look into this, because this is definitely not the set I was referring to, as I've never gotten to see Jackmaster (but have wanted to for awhile now). It was either a different surprise Do Lab set with just her (maybe a different year?), or I'm just a moron and am thinking about a totally different artist. Very very possible that it's the 2nd option.

I would be really surprised after all the build-up (Kanye dropping out last minute in 2019 due to impossible to make requests, now moving/moved out to Indio to apparently just work on his Coachella set & Donda 2) if they don't at least schedule him for 2 hours. It's a totally different question if he decides to actually play for those entire two hours, but I think it's a bit more safe to leave him at 2 on the mock.......at least for now.

His 2011 set was 1:37, for context. His Made In America 2014 set was just under 1:30. Free Larry Hoover was 2 hours, but included Drake stuff.
I think they give him 1:45 with lots of set up time. It's always awkward when a headliner ends well before their scheduled time, so unless he's planning a 2 hour set, I don't think they'll give him 2 hours.

seems more likely they give 2 hours and he’s late
That's why I said 1:45 for what I'm guessing will be around a 1:30 set. A bit of time to be late, with lots of setup time to make sure that's not the reason he's late.

Nina Kraviz had probably had around 100 people in the Do Lab W2 2019. It was as empty as I’ve ever seen it.
based of current predictions, what do we think will be the most crowded tent performance? Run the Jewels? Lane 8 after that confirm?
Doubt it happens but if Caroline Polachek is in the Gobi it’ll be a complete cluster. Purple Disco Machine in the Yuma also seems unlikely but would probably hit capacity vs what he’s up against on the mock.
Doja would pull a lot of people away from RtJ I bet

Seems like most of the massive tent crowds that overflow the Mojave/Gobi are usually before sunset. Based on current set times I’d say Arlo Parks and Snoh Aalegra could both overflow the Mojave based on current competition.

Framework is hosting Purple Disco Machine (along with Honey Dijon, Dixon, Damian Lazarus and Michael Bibi) for GV Presents April so that probably means he’s playing the Yuma.

Thank you for this! Is this something we want to actually add to confirmations? Regardless, we will keep him in the Yuma.
