Should Black Coffee be moved to Yuma since he's on one of those Framework lineups or are we thinking they could share some acts with Sahara? There's just so much already scheduled Yuma on Friday right now I'm not sure how he would fit.
Conflict that seems most likely to me and I’m most concerned about is Anitta v Hot Chip. One of my favorite bands of all time who I haven’t seen that much and don’t tour frequently anymore vs someone who isn’t my favorite but I’m very interested in and odds are if I don’t see her at Coachella I’ll never see her.
I'm also interested in both and would be conflicted. Mostly depends on my wife, who also loves Hot Chip but really wants to see Anitta. I suspect we'd choose Hot Chip - those kinds of 50 minute nighttime group parties are what make Coachella so special - but it wouldn't be an easy choice.

No way. He played Mojave last time. If anything I think he'd be due for a Sahara upgrade.
I honestly think the Framework connection with Purple Disco Machine is overblown too but what do I know.
Framework books the Yuma, but as far as I know there is nothing stopping Framework from reaching out to other Coachella acts for afterparties, LA events, etc.

I've never regretted picking Hot Chip when there's a conflict. Always a party.
If I’d never seen Hot Chip it’d be a easy pick, but I’ve seen them 2-3 times, which is right on the edge of will I regret missing something else I’ll never see otherwise to see Hot Chip again

youre convincing me to make hot chip a priority since I’ve never seen them before
Saturday is going to be brutal for me. I have 12 must sees and there’s no way that they don’t conflict
This is the same position i'm in too. Wherever Turnstile ends up is gonna control how I approach that day. They deserve to close out a tent, but selfishly I hope they play earlier just to keep my chances of seeing Caribou and Disclosure alive
I am really hoping Turnstile is a late afternoon tent show. Moshing feels like an afternoon party, Disclosure/Caribou an evening party.

You won’t regret it. Even if you don’t know the music the live show is a ton of fun. Took a bunch of friends in 2019 who didn’t know anything about them, and now they talk about that show every time I see them.

Kinda anticipated he would be in a tent, but these lineups threw me off. Feels like it's either him or PDM getting the upgrade since the rest of this Yuma mock feels intact.

I like the music a solid bit already, it’s just there’s so many other good things happening Saturday I wasn’t sure if they were even top 5

Turnstile vs Disclosure vs Caribou is my nightmare scenario

I feel like Turnstile would make excellent counter programming against Megan Thee Stallion. Sonora should just be ending, and you could head straight to Turnstile.
Speaking of Sonora I hope Black Midi and Nilufer Yanya play earlier in the day in that tent. Don’t want either of them going on around sunset.

Hopefully we don't have to make that decision. I've seen them about 10 times and only missing them if they conflict with Danny Elfman or DJ Koze.
To be fair I can attest to Hot Chip ripping live, but I've also caught some lackluster shows of theirs too. That could probably be said for any band though. I have, however, regretted anytime I've skipped them at a fest. I think it just comes down to the crowd and this one will likely be a good one. I think they play early so maybe they won't conflict with Annita.

theres a Boston show too. im just doing that to make my day easier

Hot Chip's mainstage sunset show from 2013 is one of my favorite concert experiences ever
I'm concerned with those potential Turnstile conflicts. Also pretty bummed about missing Billie. She's really the only headliner I'm interested in, but there will certainly be conflicts.

Mikey any reason why we have an hour gap between Flume and Billie? While I’m not against that, I don’t think they’re going to use that hour gap to highlight Stromae of all people on the Outdoor. Would it make more sense to put Danny Elfman in that slot if we’re trying to highlight the outdoor for whatever reason? Probably would require moving a couple other things around, but I don’t think we should be ultra concerned with Flume overlapping with Stromae for a portion of their sets if that was the original mindset.
Edit:please disregard I see that you’re staggering the act before too and they’re essentially playing unopposed on the two outdoor stages.

I have wanted to see Hot Chip since I put Ready for the Floor on our Prom party bus playlist. I’ve never seen them. Every time I look at the Saturday mock schedules I get so nervous. There’s 19 acts I want to see and I’ve never seen any of them, except Mannequin Pussy. This is a scary day for a 30 y/o gay indie head. Every set seems to be a party and or cathartic event.
Hot Chip is a fucking party live. I am "eh" on a lot of their songs on record but they are definitely a top tier act. If they are really early sunset on the outdoor, that's not as preferable to me IMO as a more crowded tent would be, but then again I thought Gorgon City would draw flies in that same slot last year and that it would hurt the ambiance, and that was an absolute out of control party with a huge crowd - one of my favorite sets that year.
Seems like they played that same spot in 2010. That makes me think they won't be Outdoor.
Hot Chip plays all the hits. It will easily be one of the best shows of the weekend.
The main reason we have them on the Outdoor is they were initially confirmed for "around sunset on the Outdoor" in 2020. As I've said before, just because someone was confirmed for somewhere in 2020 doesn't mean that they will 100% be there in 2022, but I think it does make sense to leave them there for now.
They're tied for my #1 act on Saturday, and if they conflict with Danny Elfman I might die.
