Asked DJ Holographic today at the Duck Sauce Block Party in SF if she knew what time she was playing, and she said "I wish I knew."
Was it super fun? Midway is always a blast
Oh yeah it was too much fun. Getting to meet and hang backstage the legends A-Trak and Dave1 was a dream come true. Tried to get the chance to speak with PDM after his set and ask him about his set time + stage placement, but he completely disappeared once his set was over.
At least she knows when she is playing! There will be a big crowd exchange after that set cause those people will not stay for Phoebe.
My bet is Phoebe draws more people than we think she will, but Anitta will almost definitely have the bigger crowd.
Most likely, but I think just after Anitta finishes itll just empty out and everyone wont rush to main but she will def get a sizeable crowd by the time she hits the stage. At least she kind of escapes what happened to Sufjan in 2016 when he was on Outdoor and all the Jack U fans came early to ruin it.
And I guess Billie had shitty sound at her Forum shows so its going to be interesting if her curse of bad festival sound continues or not.

never really understood why Code Orange was so early on the mock, 3:30 makes a lot more sense
also it almost doesn't matter because we're like 2 days out from the real thing, but i very very much doubt they use the Avalanches as one of the sacrificial lambs during the headliner.

Not going to be surprised if they play against Harry but it’s not going to be the final show of the night also competing against Peggy Gou and Lane 8 IMO.

would honestly love them to compete with Peggy Gou though, because the crowd will be amazing if that's the case

I don’t think you’re going to have to worry about Peggy Gou fans ruining an Avalanches set. I personally wouldn’t mind catching both artists, since I only caught the tail end of Gou in 2018 before Talaboman started.
It’s amazing that with all the Coachellas I’ve been to at this point I’ve never witnessed this “fans of X ruining the set for fans of Y” phenomenon.
it’s cool to some to allow others to ruin their good time. If a certain crowd “ruins the set”, you’re likely at a bad set or you’re making the choice to let them ruin the set.

Peggy's crowd has changed a lot. Could be my bad luck, but I've had bad experiences with her crowds recently. You're probably right that if it's at the time we're talking about them playing, it's not going to matter.
As for the whole "crowds don't change it much" thing, I mostly agree, but a bad crowd can absolutely kill a set, even at Coachella. It's not common, but it happens.

You didnt witness Crowded House get bottled in 2007? Thats a prime example.
Crowded House was the most notable one I can think of, no doubt. I think some of the other “bad crowds” are really just disinterested crowds.
I agree with you, but without quotation marks. Disinterested crowds ARE bad crowds, and suck to be in, just like super engaged crowds who are all about the music can really elevate a show. Environment is a major factor.
