Still debating if I want to grab an airbnb (even though there so expensive at this point) and a couple tickets to Claude's afterparty Sunday. Would probably grab a couple day passes to see Testpilot too and a few other awesome names on Sunday.

if anyone wants any recommendations on restaurants or places to check out while in Detroit let me know. I spend quite a bit of time in the city and the surrounding area.
I'd love to do The Bunker showcase at Tangent Gallery on Monday, but being honest with myself, I'm wondering if I'll have any energy at all by Monday night.

Trust me if you do Movement right, you will be DEAD by Monday. I went super hard my first year, did all the aftershows till 8AM, got 4hrs of sleep a night and was back at the festival by noon each day, and I was ready to collapse by Monday. But it was all worth it.

yeah i doubt i'll be able to go that hard. if i can do aftershows friday/sat/sun, with fest days starting at about 2pm, i'll be pretty pleased with myself. postjack needs his sleep. my monday after party will be a shower and pizza.
If you have your passport with you, you can always join me across the river at the casino and roll some dice if you enjoy gambling, haha.
I haven't had a passport since high school. I should probably get one. Not a big gambler but I could see myself popping into the MGM over the weekend.
And I'm just seeing Dave Chappelle will be in Detroit at the Fillmore during Movement. I might try and catch the early show on Friday. Fuck Bonnaroo, I'll get comedy here too.

The cool kids go to Movement! I'm starting it off on Friday with the Phase Fatale party at Tangent Gallery. What happens after that remains to be seen but it's hard to go wrong.

it does seem like it's hard to go wrong. so much awesome shit going on, but I feel pretty chill about the whole thing. i've chosen my afterparties, and at the festival i'll probably bounce around a lot.
I find myself with no plans this weekend, and am considering this festival out of the blue. Requesting some help as I make the decision:
-Found a cheap Airbnb about 3 miles East of the venue. Would be solo and have my old Prius to park. I know zero of Detroit, would this be safe for me and/or my car?
-Will I be able to safely and cheaply park close to the venue? Would be nice to be able to restock on supplies and clothes and such if I do afterparties (I assume all those venues are close).
-Do they let glowsticks in or do I need to smuggle them in (website doesn't say)
-I would just try my trick of looking for a cheap ticket out front, typically find them 1/3 to 1/2 price this way (and get the occasional miracle). Any reason why this festival would be any different?
Not the biggest techno fan overall even though I love dance music, but have had fun at enough techno shows to maybe make this happen. Usually a bit too minimal for me, but some artists do more. Like at Moogfest last weekend, Simian Mobile Disco and Octo Octa were fantastic. And then DSV1 at Okeechobee was great too. I was originally considering SMF in Tampa (huge Above and Beyond fan), but it is just in a parking lot, Movement is bucketlist, and 2 days vs. 3.

Packing tonight and leaving in the morning!
For afterparties I'm doing Smartbar, Dirtybird, Discowoman, and Need I Say More. Might do industry brunch too, depending on sleep/energy level.
I have a friend who just decided to go, her room is across the street from the fest at the Marriott. I believe it's around 300 a night and she's looking to split/share the room with someone. I'm not sure of the bed situation so it might be floor/roll away bed. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM!
